All In Insights
Hi 2+2,
As the title describes, I'm going "All in" on unlocking my potential in poker, and will be sharing the Insights of the process.
I'd define "going all in" as holding myself accountable for agreements I have made with myself (mostly regarding study time & tilt management), using my time as efficient as possible, and lastly working my f**king a$$ of.
Made some attempts on taking it more serious before, but these attempts didn't work out, I'd say 80% because of failed discipline, 20% because of external events (maybe even being to soft here on myself, might as well be 100% on my watch, idk).
Anyway, not going to bother you with too much personal bs, but to give some context, I'm 31 years old, from the Netherlands. Recently went from a 36 hour work week to a 28 hour work week, so there is more study / grind time.
Not to be dramatic or anything, but I do see this as "My Last Shot at Poker" (shoutout to KidCudi147).
I've set the deadline at 1-8-26, to see if I truly am capable of convincing myself I am able to play professionally (yes I believe the Poker Dream is still alive).
To give it some more of an objectively deadline, I'd like to go from slightly winning at 25NL to beating 200NL within a year.
What I will share:
- The Study-grind: What I'm working on, how motivated I am, and what progress I made
- Results & bankroll report
- Lifestyle situation, without boring you guys
Why:
- To challenge myself
- To motivated others
- To become more disciplined
- Not loving my current working situation, it's ok and it earns good money, but I miss the excitement
I will be posting updates around 2-3 times / week. Any comment or feedback is welcome along the ride!
Currently playing R&C on GGpoker, will be switching to regular tables at a certain point, but making volume now has the priority.

Thanks for your support. Yea I am aware that reaching 200NL is depending not alone on skill but also on variance.
Reaching 200NL before 1-8-26 is not as sacred to me as I maybe described in the 1st post.
If I continue after 1-8-26 is mostly depending on reflecting on my own progress, and the honest feedback I'm getting from (hopefully) people who are reading along with this thread. But the 200NL does give me a sort of long term vision, and so far it does motivate me to push it further than I did before.
About the studying, this week I'm mostly focused on probe betting turn.
5 days into the blog:
Did 7 hours of studying probe betting the turn, combining reading articles (learning the fundamentals), studying GTO wizard solutions (looking for patterns / heuristics), and finally using the GTO wizard trainer to put it all to the test. Not the most common spot in poker, but I really liked studying it since I had to start from scratch, where with the more common occurring spots I have some sort of baseline knowledge, and tend to easily dive in too deep on details.
Simple example of where I had an "aha moment" when looking at why the solver uses different betsizes in the probe betting line for CO:
BTN’s Flop Strategy on A♥8♥7♦

BTN’s Flop Strategy on 6♥5♥4♦

So much more medium strength hands in BTN's checking range on A87, so much more junk in BTN's checking range on 6-5-4.
The most striking contrast in BTN's approach to favourable and unfavourable flops is the greater presence of weak holdings in their checking range, which subsequently influences the CO's reduced use of small probe-bets.
Finding out why we use a big size / overbet polar strategy, on e.g. the A-8-7-x, to make hands in the medium strength hand classes fold was cool to figure out :-). Hoping to translate these type of concepts to other spots as well, finding similar trends.
Also did 5 hours on the mental game, working on developing a system that keeps me accountable on fundamental stuff like keeping track of a tilt journal, having a reliable plan when sings of tilt occur, having for me applicable warm-ups / cooldowns etc.
Here is an example of what I'm working on :-) (btw some is in dutch, was to lazy to translate it just for a screenshot hehe).

Finishing of 20 hours of study before some 25NL R&C grinding, results of both the study content-, and the play sessions will follow for those who are interested.
