My Live Poker Comeback

My Live Poker Comeback

Hey TwoPlusTwo community,

I’m Alex, 30, from Texas, USA. After a tough stretch this year—lost my steady gig at a local warehouse and had to tighten the belt—I blew €200 on poker tables trying to unwind, mostly making impulsive calls with hands like Q-7 off suit. But today, I’m starting fresh with a €200 roll, aiming for €10k in one year. Time to turn this around!

My plan:

Grind 2/5 and 5/10 cash games, 15 hours/week.

Study 10 hours/week (focusing on hand reading and bankroll management).
Post weekly updates wins, losses, and lessons.

I’ve figured out live poker can be a fun side hustle if I play smart, but last time I tilted hard and busted quick after a bad run. Now, I’m focused on steady growth no jumping stakes, no ego plays.

Any tips for surviving early downswings or spotting soft spots at the table? Wish me luck, and I’ll keep you posted!
Cheers,
Alex
