Micro Stakes in Canada - Casual Grinding (Tracking Results)

So a few weeks ago I casually fired up Pokerstars (Ontario) and opened up a $2NL table. After opening PT4 for the first time in years I got the urge to see what I could do. Deciding to track my results, no really ambitious goals, just a new sparked interest in online cash. Going to see how high I can go and track my results through the limits.

Currently what I find has been working really really well:
-Solid hand/Position selection
-Crush limpers, majority of hands have multiple limpers (5x-10x) I'm taking down a ton of pots preflop, and building big winnable pots post
-Use notes to flag Nits/Calling station, there are many and are pretty transparent to exploit
-Get into as many pots as possible with manics (there are many) minimize losses and try to maximize situations where I think I may even be marginally ahead

That's pretty much it... pretty ABC I think, let's see where this goes

Also, not included in the graphs above is $2 in "rake back" in the form of 2 chests unlocked on Pokerstars worth $1 each...

Lol happy with this little run so far 😉

Nice 10 bi upswing! GL at the tables

Still trucking along. Have been holding pretty steady at 18-20 BB/100 hands at $2NL.

I feel like I'm going to move up to $5NL at some point this week. Kind of want to get to 20 buy ins profit before moving up though... no bankroll management reason, just a number I have in my head that I kind of want to hit as a personal goal.

Honestly feel I've been running pretty good, but it also seems kind of hard to run bad at $2NL in Ontario. Most of the hands where I'll lose an entire stack seem to be hands I get it in good on the flop, so not really too bummed when that happens. Winning good hands at showdown, and not really giving too much up chasing cards.

Keeping it going...

Up to almost 6k hands, took a little 5 buy in downswing there but don't feel too bad about it. Was getting money in good, and sometimes these players that suck out don't stay online long enough to win it back!

Sticking to the plan trying to focus on getting as much out of opponents all the way up to the river.

Nothing super exciting yet BB/100 still holding strong.

Hoping I can get out of $2NL this month. Probably will try a shot once I hit that 20BI mark.

Still chugging along, figure I'd share one of the spots that I find I get paid far too often at $2NL. Raises it up to 5x preflop with some suited connector or in this case a 2 gap suited connector. Disguises hand really well, and when the flush or straight hits I'm finding people either don't realize or can't get away from top pair. Really good spot I'm finding pretty often in these sessions so far.

SO tonight while I was casually 2 tabling my nightly $2NL I decided, slow night, I'm going to fire up a $5NL table to see how she goes... 10 minutes in I lose 2 buy ins lol... both hands I think I definitely got it in good, but just too funny that I get rinsed twice the first few minutes of trying to move up a rung on the micro stakes ladder. Hands below.

Same guy lol

Luckily I stuck around and was able to win both buy ins back within like an hour, but damn $5NL seems way more profitable than $2NL just going to need to put up with way more variance... I feel people just kind of call their stacks away while watching TV at $2NL, $5NL seems like entering micro degenerate territory.

Here's how the graphs looking so far after last nights roller coaster lol...

sick , good stuff , i imagine ontario pool is soft ( is it like MTTs ring fenced ontario only ? or are there few states US apart too

Everything is ring fenced to only players in Ontario, I haven't played higher stakes since the sites first went live in Ontario like 5 years ago but so far micros are very soft

nice , yeah i can imagine - i know few players from BC AB SK moved to ON jus to grind MTTs there instead of global pools

GLGL ( im from ON , but living out west for long time now - thinking of going back lol )
