Poker Blog + Goals

Preparing for a very focused and highly successful and exciting end of the year:

My 90-day goals Oct 7 to Jan 13 (I've added an extra week to extend my deadline up until January 13, as an added success buffer to get it all done)

Top 3 Professional Goals:

a. I want to play the WPT events Hard Rock Hollywood and also Wynn WPT Championship Event (Nov and Dec 2025)

b. I want to get in 32 to 36 hours of quality poker each week over the next 14 Weeks up until January 13, 2026

c. I am aiming to earn 75K or more over the next 14 Weeks playing poker

Top 3 Personal Goals:

d. 100K total Cash on hand by year end (Current Cash on hand is about 47K only)

e. Complete Yin Yoga Teaching Certification finished by Dec 31, 2025

f. #1 Goal: Breakthrough goal is to get my weight from 235 to 205 Pounds on or before January 13, 2026.

Notes:

A. I might somehow attach a plan of action for each individual goal at some point.

B. For me, all of these goals are related to poker, since I consider poker to be a very holistic game.

C. Checking in on a regular basis to provide updates. I don't about daily. I'd like to update at least once every 1 to 2 weeks.

Looking forward to checking off all of these goals in the next 3 months.

Cheers!

Hes back

It’s 1pm. Having my breakfast and coffee after my fist attempt and getting in a workout:

ABCDE - Fresh off learning a new productivity concept:

A - Most important - Consequences if you don’t do it are high
B - 2nd most important - Consequences are there but not as high.
C - Would like to do it, but not very high if you don’t
D - Delegate
E - Eliminate the task entirely.

Based on this, I’m going to do the A items before the B items. Items are your must tasks. Making your goals a must is how to get them done. The B and C items are the should items.

I woke up and I was determined to get the gym done first thing in the morning. This was my A1.
I can rank the order of my A list.

A1 Workout at the gym
A2 Calorie Counting
A3 Yoga / Mediation
A4 - 10K steps
A5 Massage

B1 Study

C - Clean up condo

D - n/a

E - Eliminate browsing time, sports, email, social media, except to call my GF
Assistance with the Freedom app on my desktop.

Continuing on from the moment I woke up at around 12 Noon.

It took me about 30 minutes to get out of bed and then find my clothes and headphones and to get prepared to go over there. I didn’t have any workout shirts that felt comfortable.

I walked there. It takes 5 minutes to get there.

I had an empty stomach, and my tummy was growling. I’m wearing a collared dry fit shirt, which could work, but this shirt is pretty nice. I don’t really want to waste this nice shirt at the gym for a wear.

There were guys using the machines I wanted to use. It’s peak time. It’s lunch time.

I walk back to my condo to reset for a minute. I should note, I have been here at this Air BB for over a week now. Almost 2 weeks. And I have not worked out yet.

Today is the day! I’m committing to do this. I won’t get sucked into distraction again and put it off until the end of the day and then fall asleep like I did the last few days.

I checked my weight; indeed it’s 235. When I got back, I had breakfast, which I am tracking on the Fitness Pal app. Then I went online and ordered 2 sets of dry fit gym shirts and running shirts.

Adjustments for tomorrow:

Have my coffee, gym clothes, swim trunks, and a smoothie prepped the night before.

This is poker. Poker starts the moment you wake up. Being prepared is everything.

I have a clear goal. I know what I want and I’m going to find a way to get there. I’m staying focused on my goal. I can do it!

In the meantime, I made progress so far today. Even though I didn’t work out yet, I did walk over there to the gym and I visualized the process. I got the gym clothes ordered. I’m journaling for adjustments. Will update once I’m done with my workout.

What did I do right when I woke up? I walked to the gym. I didn’t go online until after I went to the gym.

What can I do better? Have the night routine done the night before that will have gym clothes prepared, coffee, swim trunks, shoes, and a smoothie. Be out the door within 5 minutes of waking up.

I also need to have my workout planned. I’m aiming for consistency, and fundamentals.

I’m out the door within 5 minutes of waking up.

Bench
Incline
Rows
Lat Pulldowns
Deadlifts
Squats
Shoulders
Biceps
Triceps
Core

This will get me started nicely.

Raise Necessity
Habit 3 in Brendon Burchard’s book High Performance Habits: How Extraordinary People Become That Way is Raise Necessity. High performers “strive to live an extraordinary life” and “one of the most powerful drivers of human motivation and excellence [is] performance necessity.”

3:15 pm. Somehow I got lost online for 2 hours. I’m gonna go out to the pool now and reset.

The new Gym deadline is by 5 pm today. I’ll go running today for 25 minutes. Most likely, I’ll do intermittent runs. 2 minutes walking, 5 running, 3 walking, 5 running, until I hit the 27 minute mark. Tomorrow for a full body workout. This is the plan: Full body 3 days per week; Cardio 3 days per week: 8 to 12 K steps per day average per week. Calorie range of 1900 to 2200 per day. 2200 per day average or less per week. Highest single day allowance of 2500 for a cheat day.

I’m going to the gym, no matter what, by 5 pm. No way out. I’m going to pretend like a personal trainer is there waiting for me to get me to go. Whatever it takes. And I’m going to run.

I’ll also note my total calories.

I’ll stay focused on this goal. If it was easy I would have already had it done.

Also very relevant is having my plan up on a poster board with my purpose. I’ll do an RPM plan. More on that later.

Note: I need to come up with a system to track my productivity and goals:

4:30 p.m.

Google Calendar seems insufficient. I’m going to order a calendar online with a hard copy. I know exactly which calendar to order.
11:10 pm - I still have not done any exercise today. Hmmm…………

So when it comes to forming new habits, James clear recommends making the new habit easy to start. James Clear was the author of Atomic Habits.

So, I did record my calories the past 3 days. That’s great. And I have been doing well by getting my macros and calories in a very good range. So that’s a great start.

As to what happened: I got caught planning my travel online the past several hours mostly. Mostly air BB bookings and setting up my trips all the way out to next September.

I got lost on the computer. This has been the theme for distraction. Going on the laptop.

I’m just getting settled into this new condo after travelling the past 12 weeks.

Looking forward to settling over the next few days.

And, I’ll take a break from my laptop, and see what I can get done today. I don’t think Cardio is ideal late at night.

Taking a walk outside and doing some weights does seem very realistic though. It’s close to 11:30 pm, but I woke up at noon. A walk and weights seems like the play. I’m gonna break and then get back.

I had a few things I did not quite complete earlier:

Finish up Logistics for my 4th Quarter trip. I’m trying to postpone my Miami trip and trade it for where I’m at now so I can stay here the entire 14 weeks for the 4th Quarter and stay in rhythm. If my Airbnb host approves it. If not, I can go to Miami and play the WPT and play there in November. But I’ll be getting out of my rhythm with my routines here. However, I can adjust fairly well either way.
Option 1 - I stay in Vegas the whole 14 Weeks - I’ll need to find a place to stay in November
Option 2 - I’m going to Miami in November - I’ll just need to book my flight, then I’m done.

Option 3 - I want to set up a trip to Texas for next August 13 to Sep 9

Then I’m done with the logistics and I can focus on the process and getting into more of a rhythm.

Every time I set up in a new city, then I’m also getting hit with start-up costs for the place I stay at and flight costs. Anyways, it’s been a worthwhile trip so far the past few months.

I was in Vegas over the summer, then Miami, and also Dallas Texas. So I might start getting more into poker later. I had a big summer though I can provide a short preview. I made around 100K $ playing poker over 12 weeks during that trip to Vegas and Miami. This surpassed my expectations by a lot.

I managed to run down my bankroll a lot already though since August. More about the budgets and poker later. Budgets being relevant to poker because this affects my Poker Bankroll.

For tonight, my only goal is to take a walk outside and do some work at the gym. Not a full body workout, but half of my workout.

Will update later about those results.

Bench
Incline
Rows
Lat Pulldowns
Deadlifts
Squats
Shoulders
Biceps
Triceps
Core

I’ll check off a few of these boxes and update later + the step count. I might also book a massage online so I can get that taken care of and a haircut.

I’ll jot these down in my notebook for my list.

What do you take bro you are so high but I love it lol gl

Top 3 Professional Goals:

Updates:

a. I want to play the WPT events Hard Rock Hollywood and also Wynn WPT Championship Event (Nov and Dec 2025)

Goal "a" I cancelled the hard rock Hollywood event, because I didn't want to get distracted by travelling out there and disrupt my rhythm. What I did was substitute the WPT Prime Championship at Wynn in December for that tournament.

The WPT championship is questionable because I'm not actively playing NL or Tournaments much, but I can play the WPT Prime.

I hope I can play the WPT Championship also with the 10K buy in event being the first one I've played in a few years.

It's possible. Let's see....

b. I want to get in 32 to 36 hours of quality poker each week over the next 14 Weeks up until January 13, 2026

I'm averaging more than 45 hours per week up until this point the past few weeks.

It's debatable how high my quality of play has been.

c. I am aiming to earn 75K or more over the next 14 Weeks playing poker

This goal seems to be well ahead of schedule. I'm at 54K with 8 more weeks to go.

Top 3 Personal Goals:

d. 100K total Cash on hand by year end (Current Cash on hand is about 47K only)

I'm on track to hit this goal. I actually got off to a very bad start of this 14 Week challenge. I lost 14K on day 2 of my trip. I've had 3 huge downswings in the 15K range but eventually came back through. Most of this was due to me playing really bad at times.

I could potentially get into more detail about the poker at a later time.

11/17/25

The Financial goal has been coming along on schedule.

Here are my results for the past 6 weeks:

As of this morning, I’m at 53,739 for my first 6 Weeks.

e. Complete Yin Yoga Teaching Certification finished by Dec 31, 2025

I have access to the class. I have paid for and set up the Course. 50-hour teachers training class.

Each week would take about 10 hours to complete, so if I can do one section per week from the 7 sections, I could have this finished 1 week ahead of schedeule.

f. #1 Goal: Breakthrough goal is to get my weight from 235 to 205 Pounds on or before January 13, 2026."

I have about 8 Weeks to accomplish this goal.

I've noticed that my poker game is at its worst lately when I wake up and play right away. I also noticed that when I put off my workouts / morning routines, that I'm not consistent with it.

So, I have an 8 week, approximately 2-month challenge to get me on track to actually reach this goal.

A. Upon waking up, go out for a walk right away, every day for 10K steps or more.

B. M, T, R, F - Work Out, after my walk.

C. W, Sat, Sun - Yoga, after my walk.

D. Average of 10 to 15K steps per day

E. Average Calories per day of 2500 or less

F. Night Routine - Have Gym clothes, smoothie, coffee, water prepared to be out the door within 5 minutes of waking up.

Note: Important - For the night routine, putting the laptop away in the closet at night is key. I'm only allowed to go online the next day after I did my steps and also yoga / gym / mediation practice.

Maybe I can provide updates every 2 weeks over the next 8 weeks to help me stay accountable and motivated.

Tracking with Google Sheets for progress also. I might even attach my google sheets docs for the Poker and Other goals for a day-to-day real time updates.

"F. Night Routine - Have Gym clothes, smoothie, coffee, water prepared to be out the door within 5 minutes of waking up.

Note: Important - For the night routine, putting the laptop away in the closet at night is key. I'm only allowed to go online the next day after I did my steps and also yoga / gym / mediation practice."

Also, have something prepared on the phone to listen to upon waking up. The main purpose of my night routine is to prepare me for bed, but also to eliminate decision making for the next day. Avoiding decision fatigue and increasing the speed to get out the door and get going upon waking up

Just "go"

My goal was 75K by the first 14 Weeks. I'm at 73.36K so far and Week 7 not over yet. 3 more days left in Week 7.

Crushed this financial goal.

Week 1 Tues to Mon 10/7 -$11,959.00
2 Tues to Mon 10/14 $8,858.00
3 Tues to Mon 10/21 $20,832.15
4 Tues to Mon 10/28 $22,913.00 $40,644.15 Total October

Week 5 Tues to Mon 11/4 -$6,650.00
6 Tues to Mon 11/11 $24,870.37
7 Tues to Mon 11/18 $14,496.39
Week 8. Nov 25 to Dec 1 $????

$32,716.76 Total November

Totals so far for October and November - $73,360.91

A. I'm going to postpone the Yoga Teacher Certification Goal, and double down on the fitness goal to get from 235 to 205 by January 13.

More details on this later, possibly here or maybe in health section of the forums where I might get better visibility.

B. I'm playing the WPT prime championship at the Wynn in December (1k buy in only)

C. 10K WPT championship I would like to play it. This is a dream lining type of goal. Hopefully I can go for it!

D. Poker / Profits I have 7.5 more weeks to crush my goal and save up.

I'm very fortunate to be this far ahead (Especially after I started off week 1 on a big downswing). I lost 15K on day 2 and my first week was down 12K. Very grateful to have been able to get the momentum back 😀

About 20K of the profits has been from sports betting the other 53K was from poker. More details on this later possibly.

Wow! Week 8 is underway at this time. I started off this week on my 2nd session down by 10K USD, playing 10/20 PLO. That was actually pretty stressful. I'm not there yet on my goal especially when I'm having these 10K downswings almost weekly the past 4 weeks. Wild sessions!

I managed to somehow get out of that and comeback after battling for a very long session.

I'm currently up 80K, already surpassing my 75K 14-week goal after 7.5 weeks only and 6.5 weeks to go. I'm very grateful (I was down 12K my first week)

As for my weight loss goal of 235 to 205, I'm at 230 as of yesterday.

I'm going to continue to get my step count up and track calories and work out. The weather is great for walking outside.

Goal this week is to average 12K steps per day and workout 4 times I'm not going to be super strict on calories this week because of the holiday.

Update next week.

Dec 3 - Working with my favorite mindset coach yesterday. Also my Poker PLO coach did session reviews for me. A lot!

I had some breakthrough yesterday.

Dec 4
a 2 sessions fast quits;
One big advantage of playing online - ease of quits

b "boredom"of playing tight, but necciity to win

c staying late only if "game is great" and I'm playing great and winning big

d I watched my first movie in awhile. After the quits. I wasn't feellng well.
Then after the end of the day I played for a small amount.
I felt like wow, I'm more focused, I'm seeing the game differently and have better
clairty about what's going on.

e Session finsished! I feel great today after playing much better. Quality over quantity
Health = Wealth

f Credit to my Fiance for cheering me up and helping me overcome the isolation and being away

Will be at UFC 323! Pending bets of 16K on this card: Total balance of 20 cents. I'll post my ending balance after the event AND profit / loss

I started off October and November stuck after week 1 (but made comebacks for 40K plus months both of those months). Hopefully December I can get off to a big start if I can get lucky on these "Degen" sports bets.

love it , anything Merab / Pantoja is gold

Merab - decision, i am on alot
as well sprinkle Pantoja by finsih ( think will have opp's how Van will be always trying get up / giving back up )

as well as CCC Talbot - end in decision

live at event should be sick , nice

live at event should be sick , nice

Yeah, it was cool. I got the ticket for about 300sh on stub hub with a good seat.

Wow! Champs both got waxed lol.

I really enjoyed the prelims the best. I was able to get very close seats, and I was off to a very nice start with my picks.

Unfortunately, Moreno, Pantoja and Merab lost, so I did take a hit. The only think that saved me from getting completely destroyed was the over 4.5 round parlays on Merab / Yan.

Week 9 update:

UFC Down 8500 - I had around 16K at risk. 7500 Ending balance on the sports book. I'm cashing out and take a break on sports betting.

Poker - Up 3400

Net Loss - as of Saturday - about 5k - Which isn't a big deal.

3 more days to go to play poker for week 9 (1st week of December for me)

My weeks start on Tuesdays for record keeping purposes.

A. I won about 3700 in my poker session after the UFC fights playing PLO cash, getting me close to even on the week after my UFC 8.5K loss. 2 more days to run it up to a profit for week 9.

B. I'm considering posting some footage of me playing (mostly PLO) online sometime in the future. I've never have done this before, but it might be fun.

C. I'm all set up to play the Wynn WPT Prime Championship event this week. There are 4 day one's (Dec 7 to 10). I'm probably going to play Monday. The day 2 and 3 are Thursday and Friday, Dec 11 and 12

D. I did 2 yoga sessions last week, 2 workouts, and averaged more than 10K steps per day. I'm getting these workouts done before I play, which has helped me play better poker and also get more consistent with the routines.

E. I randomly saw yesterday that there is a World Series Circuit event in Vegas in early January, and I'll be in Vegas at that time. 1700 is the main event buy in. I'd like to play this.

F. WPT 10K Wynn Championships, I would like to take a shot in some satt's. I'm not planning to put up 10K, although anything is possible 😀 Depending on how the Wynn Prime championship event goes.

mice - overall event was sick yeah - prelims esp agree

n yeah tough beat pantoja with the arm, n guess every Machine does break eventually lol masterclass by Yan hey

GLGL in the Wynn Championship , look fwd to seeing some footage

Lucrative James

This has hit his lock the past 3 weeks, and he claims to be (seems legit) up 200 units on MMA this year

he is legit , been following him for few years now

I had fun playing the WPT Prime event at the Wynn. This has me inspired to play more MTT. For me, the vibe there was so much more upbeat and fun compared to the cash games that I've been mostly grinding this past year. Some of the tourney pros that I was playing with seem like cool people and enjoying what they do. Seems like a dream life kind of a set up to me.

I also signed up for GTO lab annual elite with videos for Black Friday, so I can take my tournament game to a higher level hopefully with that site. Maybe I start playing tournaments on Sundays after my break in Jan / Feb online to prepare for WSOP next year. But what I noticed was when I play online, it's not working out to mix online cash with MTT. Because you only get 5-minute breaks at MTT, my cash game was pretty poor during those sessions on average. I need to play MTT only on those days and not mix it with cash. I can see why I gave up on MTT online in the past. I was truly inspired by playing this WPT event, even though I busted out before the lunch break.

Unfortunately, I got a quite distracted though during this past week because I had to change condos during the WPT prime event. I got pretty stressed out and was having some tilt issues and ran pretty bad. When I set up my stays I wasn't' planning on playing it so that's understandable that I would get thrown off.

December results wise, I'm off to a typical start that I also had in October and November.

Down about 10K as of today for December. I'm projecting to make 10K per week over the next 5 weeks playing PLO cash. Let's see if I can do it! Games should be awesome during the holidays. I'll bring my AAA game and see how it goes

Note: I'm super, super wanting to play this 10K Championship at the Wynn. Next time for sure I have to play it if at all possible.

who do u like end of month Gaethje / Paddy Nunes / harrison ? or any other fights on card

im starting to put in some wagers getting ahead of the line moves

https://www.youtube.com/@mmafortunetelle...

I like Lucrative James / MMA fortune teller for picks

I made a new year's resolution I'm not going to bet any in 2026 due to the 90% cap tax law in U.S. it makes it impossible to beat the game anymore for me.

I would probably get Luc James picks and see how long he can keep winning if I was going to bet; Prices seemed reasonable.

GL GL!

yeah feel bad for you americans - about that bill hurts the pro / rec betters for sure

James has a long track record / documented crushing MMA - def would be the guy

not sure how it works but what about using off shore books , n crypto im sure there are some ways to skirt around that issue

either way GLGL in 26
