Run a successful stable so I can stop grinding seventy hour weeks

Last week I decided that my next venture would go be into running a poker stable and I decided I'd start this blog, hopefully as partially a marketing tool to get more player looking for staking.

Some background on me:

I started playing poker online basically the day I turned 18, depositing way more money than my mom would have approved. I binked my first MTT the day I graduated high school for 2K, and chopped a second a week later for the same amount.

I had zero idea what I was doing.

I managed to get backed by a very good player, and was able to grow my game up until Black Friday hit. At that time, I mostly retired from poker until 2016, when I started playing on Ignition and crushed it from day one. I quit my job within a year, and made enough that I put a small amount into buying a restaurant (and now two) with my brother.

I ended up helping run the first restaurant for a couple years, so poker took a back seat. Poker came in and out of focus over the next couple years depending on the demands of the business, but became full time again late in 2022. Aided by (1) some great coaching and (2) playing in a soft, regulated USA pool, I've been able to make a very solid living.

My entire life I'd played MTTs, but started playing cash beginning of this year, mostly because I was sick of saying no when my friends asked me to do stuff. It was time to make poker a thing I did, not the only thing I did.

I currently have almost all of my play on Bet Rivers. If you notice me from that site, you probably have seen my name on top of the cash game leaderboard probably 75% of the weeks since it's started. Yeah, I don't have much of a life, but at least I can say I grind poker a lot.

What this blog will be: I'll try to post at least once a week on an update to the group, how they're doing, theft issues, coaching, etc.

What this blog won't be: An update of my own person play, outside if I ever hit a massive live score. Too much of a grind, not enough interesting things.
