Truly Going For It
Hello, posting this challenge to hold myself accountable. I have a lot of internal desire to succeed in poker, and tell myself I have the dedication required. Well, talk is cheap - time to go out and actually commit myself and truly go for it.
My primary goal is reaching 3100 total poker hours played from now until December 22nd, 2026 for the Christmas Holiday. This includes live/online cash, and live/online MTT's. This will be NLH exclusively. The vast majority of the volume will be live cash, while mixing in some online cash to stay sharp and get more reps in against tougher competition. Will plan to play the occasional live MTT / or perhaps an online MTT Sunday - but don't plan to put in much volume until the WSOP summer. Will prep with extensive MTT study a few weeks leading up to the summer while stopping cash temporarily and putting in some online MTT reps - expectation of significantly less volume played and primarily study/rest during this period.
My secondary goal will be 320 dedicated study hours during this same time frame - now until December 22nd, 2026. Time spent discussing HH with friends is quite valuable, but will not be included in this total. Long-term for playing higher stakes having a higher study to volume played ratio will be ideal, but for the upcoming year my focus is hitting my desired volume benchmark.
Planning to stay completely anonymous, for location/online usernames - so not planning to post live HH's, but if an interesting online hand comes up may end up posting.
Will hold self accountable to post monthly updates, except for WSOP summer, will give self the grace to not update until the conclusion. For shorter term planning once every 2 weeks with results.
Upcoming 10-day challenge from 12/14/2025 - 12/23/2025 will be exclusively minimum of 100 live cash game hours at the live 5/5 stake, with 7 hours of dedicated study. Will hold self accountable to update the results afterwards, for better or worse. Taking break from playing poker for Xmas holiday, will plan to resume play by January 1st.
There are much smarter and talented players out there in the world than me, but I will put in the effort to succeed the best that I can. 😀
