2026 Poker Goals

Background

I am a full time engineer. I have been playing poker on the side since I started working in the corporate world after graduation.

I mostly play on WSOP.COM last few years. Starting next year, I think I am going to start putting volume on BETMGM & BETRIVERS due to low volume in the early morning on WSOP.

My playing stake this year has been cash game from NLH & PLO 100 - 500. But my main stake this year has been NL 200. I have been playing NL 500 more lately and it's somewhat going better than my last few attempts.

Goals

I have many life goals set for 2026. But poker wise, my goal is to put 1000 hours. I want to put 600-700 hours of online NL 200-500 & MTTs and 300-400 hours of offline poker of NL 1k-3k. I think it will be challenging goal to hit 1k volume but it will be good journey to look back on in few years. I will try to update the thread once per week or once every two weeks and maybe provide few interesting HHs... Feedbacks are welcome. Please don't be too harsh on my plays. I am a rec! 😀

Reasons

Motivation for myself. Hopefully I will create an awesome thread to look back on my 2026 journey. I have read many 2P2 threads over the year as I sat in my cubicle and it's amazing to see their incredible journey blossom over the year.

2025 Result

WSOP doesn't allow hud. So I had to manually account all my result of the sessions. WSOP USA really needs GG software ASAP!

2026 off to bumpy start..

Nice line from villain

SRP BVB he cb 150% on flop and I called, pots the turn and jams the river

Standard cooler AIPF 😀

Need to re-study my 4b ranges lol... I think it's bad pre and post flop play from my end.

I open btn; vil 3b in sb and I 4b. Flop check through. He bets 40% on turn and jams the river.. I ended up tank calling.

Another cool line from the Vill.

I opened on btn, vil 3b and I 4b. Vil checks, I cb 25% and calls, checked turn and I b25% and vill jams.

Getting used to BetMGM pool. It's somewhat feels weird playing there.. maybe cause I have been playing too long on WSOP and the client is so laggyyyyyy.

Client does have a lot of recreational players.

Still bit tilted on this hand.. maybe light call vs rec?

gl gl gl

500 NL isn't going well as I want on the first day of this challenge.

I got there! Kinda.... ;(

BVB : sb opens I 3b; I cb 50% and vil calls, b50 on turn and calls as well and jammed call

It's been more than a year since I played live poker! Feels like a complete different game. As I sat down, didn't even get a chance to un-rack my chips because I was UTG.

I open A7ss UTG to $20; SB squeeze to $75 and I call. Flop was 234r; sb cb $75 and I called. Turn was 6; sb bet $100 and I 3b to $300 and he reluctantly calls and the river was A. He checks and I checked back as well. He showed KK.. First live hand victory!! 😀

Live poker is boring these days and I don't know how I managed to play 20+ hours session back in the days. I played about 2.5 hours and I was falling asleep.. going to be hard to put 200-300 hours.

lol someone famous?

Very surprised you havent already been playing on betmgm or betrivers if you’re in a state with access to it. Every non nevada player Ive talked to has told me that the games are much softer on those sites than WSOP (even though I think wsop is absurdly soft).

Hey bud! love your blog & vids!

Betrivers isn't available in NJ yet.. they wanted to merge the pool on December but I think they had some issue. BetMGM software is very laggy and I couldn't stand it lol.. but I did notice way more recreational and PLO here is gold mine...you are missing out :(

Mid January Update:

Online: 27.5/700 Hours Profit: 1417.94
Offline: 3.75/300 Hours Profit: 1374

MTT Buyins: 822 Cashed: 166

I had a great start to the challenge profit wise then lost few buyins at 500 NL and end up tilting off more at 200 PLO couple of days ago. Overall, I am happy with the profit result thus far but I am lacking behind on the live poker volume. I think live poker is going to be the most challenging part here since the traveling to casino takes 3-4 hours of the day plus I don't like to play for too long where I was almost falling asleep the other day at the table after few hours.

I am traveling to Florida tomorrow for 8 days. I am hoping that I can put some decent volume.. hopefully the game is good as well.

I played some 10/10/20 at Parx last weekend. The game is very beatable imho.. most regs are mostly ABCD regs.. but few regs there are very good! That's the game I want to play in few months when I have enough $$ to withstand the swings!

January Update:

MTT Buyins: 1870 Cashed: 1241

Online: 59.5/700 Hours Profit: -795.32
Offline: 27.25/300 Hours Profit: 487
Total Profit: -308.32

My monthly winning streak finally ended! I had a great start to the challenge but the hot streak didn't last! It's been a swingy month.. I was +5 or 6k at one point then went -2 or 3k but overall fine with the outcome. One of the reason my winning streak ended was because I mixed to many things and I punted a lot of buyins at 200 PLO. Next month, I am going to focus on 200 NL and select better games at 500 NL. I am really surprise that I was able to put 27 hours in live poker.. It was very boring but stuck it through. Next month or two, I am going to take a break from live poker and maybe try one of the MTT schedule at Borgata.

My first live MTT cash in like 7 years I think and 11th is my unlucky number!

February Update:

MTT Buyins: 4250 Cashed: 1116.46
Online: 73.5 Hours. YTD: 132/700 Hours. Profit: -268.95
Offline: 5.5 Hours. YTD: 32.75/300 Hours. Profit: -2250
Total Profit: -2518.95 YTD:-2827.27

I had food poisoning second week of Feb and I completely lost all the motivation to post. All my life routine were mess! I am still slowly getting back to my routine. While I was sick, my poker game & routine got affected as well. I easily got tilted & bored. I play HU vs regs who is wayyyy better than me!

My result for the month was horrendous few days ago but I caught some heat at the end of the month. Most of my losses are coming of MTTs this year.. I wanted to take break from offline poker but I couldn't resist the Parx Big Stax... I played the Parx 750 couple days ago and ended up firing 3 bullets without cashing it. I am still going to participate in MTTs and hopefully I will bink something soon!

Be very careful what kind of content you consume online! I have been watching a lot of GucciNike vs Giselle54 PLO HU battle and Brettski who just punts 5-10k daily volgs on Slots machine. I ended up loosing few Hundosss on both..

Lost 2 BI to NJ GOAT at 1K PLO HU
he 3b pre and I flat. Money went in on the flop. I wish I raised 50-75% on flop rather then potting. Regardless, I don't think he will fold the turn as well!

Lost 2 BI to Super High Roller Reg. Wanted to test him..
he 3b pre and I flat. He checked and I bet 50% and he calls. Donks turn and jams river. I should've just folded pre and save a BI

I also stopped participating on BetMGM platform this month because my PC keeps crashing when I have WSOP & BetMGM open simultaneously. Even WSOP clients open alone is making my PC lag lately.. I am going to try playing it on MAC next month. Hopefully it will fix all the issues.

I withdrew majority of my roll on WSOP to invest in stock market. Since Amazon & Google stocks were on sale... I couldn't resist but to purchase more of those stocks & will prevent me from punting it to top regs 😀

Since I can't use Huds for HH's on WSOP.. Here are some HH's from recent NLH action...

BvB: Vil open 3x I 3b to 10bb; vil check calls 40% on flop; check calls 75% on turn and calls the river jam. I think it's a cooler.. good theory call down from Villian

Co opens, Vil 3b and we 4b from BB. We cb 25% on flop and vil calls; we check call 20% and river check-check. Pretty standard...

BvB: I open 3x and vil 3b to 9bb and we call. On flop, vill cb 50% and we c/r 60% and he calls. we bet 33% on turn & jam river and he calls down. I almost check the river!

Vil open utg and we flat on button. Vil check calls 33% cb on flop; we bet 75% on turn he c/r 80% and jams the river. I guess he put me on flush draw?

My body immune system sucks!! I am getting sick again and this time I got the cold! I went out last weekend with couple of friends to the MSG Events then to watch the UFC.... and I drank a lot of cold beer; which might've helped get the cold!

I tried grinding this past few days and it just feel like ****! Also my PC laptop keeps lagging/crashing then I tried playing on MacBook but it feels weird playing without live RNG. So I decided today to get long awaited new PC laptop! upgrading it to 32 GB RAM and hopefully it won't crash or lag now! Who would've guessed that... you need 32 GB RAM to play card games!

Poker result wise, it doesn't look that good but it could be wayyyy worse lol! I won majority of my sessions YTD but when I loose, I tend to loose too much...I thought I worked on that leak but need more work on it.. Also the MTT isn't helping much YTD...

Good thing I got the day job 😀

gogogo nice read

Good read. Please post more

Got my new laptop! ASUS gave me good 10 years. Loving this Lenovo Thinkpad so far! Price was reasonable for all the spec.. 32 GB RAM, 1TB storage and AMD Ryzen GPU… the best part is that there are no lag or crash this far when you run multiple different clients!

Good to end the month on green side.. barely, but still green, unlike the stock market.

My energy and motivation has been low past couple weeks now. I rarely feel like grinding poker. Maybe 9-5 plus Poker is getting to me. For April, I really hope my body doesn't break down and I can actually get back to my GYM routine. I think that's the missing catalyst in my life right now!

I started playing on BetMGM.. It's low sample but I noticed that it's mostly A-B-C regs at 200 NL and for 100 NL it's mostly recreational limp fest.. So going forward, I am going to start putting more volume on BetMGM. I only wish their rakeback system is better.. Also I am going to start putting more live poker volume.

April First Week Update:

Played close to 24 hours thus far in the first week and half (Probably most this year). I still can't go to gym consistently:( going to try to roll the momentum following week. I also played close to 4 hours of live poker last weekend.. I kept loosing to a Whale who was drinking.. but over all it was fun xp. I wanted to leave right away when I got there since the game was so slow... but I am glad I stayed.. live poker is definitely very profitable in the long run....

I started playing more on BetMGM.. I am slowly getting use to the client. There are so many A-B-C-D regs but there are also few good regs.. now with huds I can see their stats and it's just unbelievable where their 3b stats is 3-4% and 4b is 1-2%.

I knew I was beating WSOP 100-200 NL pool pre/post rakeback but I don't know my exact win-rate.. On BetMGM, I am excited to see what's my exact win-rate post 100k hands..

Here is my BetMGM graph for 200 NL.. I lost like 6-7 buyins within 2 hour span after work lol (Tilt Juice!)

I am not a nit. Confirmed! 😀

Here is few HHs from BetMGM:

Good River Compilation ~

Bad Flop Compilation~

Almost folded but he is one of the good reg in the pool and gave benefit of the doubt..

Another good reg in the pool.. very nicely played IMO. Discipline fold by me?

Ultra nitty reg.. 100% 2p+

Here is few HHs from WSOP:

I opened and vil 3b then checks the flop then he 33% turn and checks the river.. I jammed and he tank call with one hand I didn't expect.

my love & hate for PLO6. Lots of action & no-one folds to 3b & 4b... I open sb 3b and bb cold call then I came along. All the money in on the flop..

Best turn?

SRP.. everyone calls except btn. I cb bigger size then also bigger size on turn but got 3b on turn. Vil was a very spewy whale.. so I called the turn...

Best river? Donk jam the rest...

Interesting hands, great read. 31/27/14, that is some loose playing!

Yea it's low sample size. But the pool is so nitty where you just want to run them over lol 😀

Mid-April Update:

MTT Total Buyin YTD: 5487 Cashed YTD: 2273.46
Online: 36 Hours. YTD: 218/700 Hours. Profit: +117.37
Offline: 5.5 Hours. YTD: 38.25/300 Hours. Profit: +668
April Total Profit: +785.37

It's been decent couple weeks. I could've had few good MTTs score but came in short on few. Cash game wise, I definitely need to put more volume to close out the month strong.

Maybe I gotta tighten up 😀

utg opens, btn 3b and I rolled 99 or 100.. I elected to 4b and utg fold and btn call, I think this is big blunder from my end (Gotta Tighten up!) I cb 50% on flop, 33% on turn and he calls.. I check the river and he checks...

hmmmm...

Live Poker 2/5 Parx Game.. fun game if the straddle is always on and you get the right table!
