Ah cool 😎 I'm on pokerstars too 🙂. I started at 5nl with 70 dollars not too long ago, just over a month ago I think. I've made it to 25nl and 1014 dollars so it's totally possible to grind it up. I've done it before also.
Unfortunately I'll have to withdraw my roll in a few weeks as I need the money, I've been travelling for a few months and I'm now poor haha. Once I'm back at work I'll replace it however and get back to the grind. I want to get to at least 50nl and take shots at 100nl.

My graph so far from 5nl to 25nl. Perhaps we'll cross paths eventually!

Very good result, man!

I think in my case it’s still not possible for me to do that — I need to improve my game a lot.

It’s my first time playing NL5 and I still need to put in enough volume to know whether I’m a winning player or not.

I’ve only played 6k hands and I’m down €2. I know, it’s an irrelevant sample.

For that, I want to finish the month with at least 20k hands and then I’ll post my first graph here. Until then, I’ll keep posting hands for discussion.

And about PokerStars, I play in the FR-PT-IT market, so we won’t run into each other for now hahaha.

Ah okay cool! Well I wish you luck.
If you find you get stuck I can share some things that have worked for me.

Hey guys, month closed with very little volume.

I’m doing a training course to start a new job and it ended up taking a lot of my time, but I’m aware that I didn’t plan properly for it.

On top of that, I didn’t study at all — I just played — and as you can see, it was a complete disaster.

I don’t remember exactly what my bankroll was when I made the first post, but right now I’m sitting at €28.50.

The thread title is NL5, but I need to be aware of my ignorance about the game and move down a stake to study properly and build a healthy bankroll at NL2.

Goals for March, starting tomorrow (02/03):

– Set aside 20 hours per week for poker (treat it seriously like a part-time job).
– Out of those 20 hours, 2/3 for study and 1/3 for grind. Rounding it up, that’s about 2 hours of study per day and 1 hour of grind.
– I will play ONLY regular NL2 tables.

I’ll come back at the end of the month with the graph and an update on what happened.

My main study resource at the moment will be Matthew Janda’s book, Applications of No-Limit Hold’em.

Suggestions are always welcome!

Big hug to everyone — I’ll be back with weekly updates.

My overall graph:

*I know the volume is ridiculous — I’ll improve and put more effort into it.

I would be very interested in your tips.
If you don’t mind sharing, I’d really appreciate it.

Thank you!

After getting back into Poker after 5 years away, I’ve been reading The Grinders Manual by Peter Clarke and it seems to be working quite well for me at the moment and might help you beat the micros.

Once I’ve done that I plan on moving onto Applications of No Limit Hold ‘em but I hear good things about Modern Poker Theory too.

Hello mate, wish you more volume and big success in the future, gl.

Sure, you're in a different pool so I guess why not. I may share in a private message however ✌️ GL with the grind

I’ve never heard of The Grinders, I’ll add it to my list.

I started with Applications because I’ve heard really good things about it and I want to dive deep into the theory to really understand what I’m doing and what I should be doing in the game.

Thank you so much!

I really need to improve my volume, and if all goes well, I’ll have a better volume by the end of the month!

Wishing you success too!
