grinding low stakes live
I've been on a pretty good run lately. Last night I hit the casino around 10 pm after sleeping during the day. All about the graveyard shift.
I initially played 1/1 and won like 20bbs. Entirely from this hand:
Hero picks up AA and opens to $4. Short stack calls, a blind makes it $16, folds to me, I make it $44 and take it down.
Anyway we play a bit more. Table gets short handed, and one player is having a conversation with a rail tard when it is his turn so I decide to quit and break the game and go to 1/2 even though I was in the small blind. In the words of Al Pacino in Heat, don't waste my [expletive deleted] time.
1/2 game is pretty terrific. And I was running super hot. First had I open 10/10 to 3x from UTG, get three callers, flop is a dream T75. I c-bet 60%, two callers. Turn K. I bet 2/3rds and take it down.
There was a guy at my table that I had played with the night before. And both nights he was sitting deep. I remember he butchered one hand yesterday - although it wouldn't have mattered if he had played it well anyway because he got coolered on the flop. The hand in question, he opened 99 and he was first to act. Flop came KJ9 and he made a loud and angry check like he hated the flop (lol). Anyway, the loose Germanic looking guy who had flatted the button had QT. Hilariously I think they both check the flop, but maybe German guy bet it. I wasn't paying much attention. But anyway 99 slow plays until the river, at which point the board puts up a one card straight, KJT9, and then he fires out and pays off the raise from QT, which flopped the straight anyway. The Germanic guy actually doubled up off me when he was short stack with AA vs my KK and went on a bit of a run even though he was very splashy / high vpip.
So this guy, who we will call tilt fish, eventually table changes. But we're down to two tables and we break shortly thereafter anyway. When I get to the new table, tilt fish is spewing hard. And getting worked by the other fish. It was insane fish on fish violence. He ends up three barreling with top pair into flopped trips rivered boat (966, A, 2) J9 vs 62. And on the river supposedly he thought the guy had only like $30 when he really had $130 cause the other fish had a big chip. But he had no legitimate complaint, the big chip had been clearly visible, I was aware of it for a long time. But he was just steaming so hard at this point and he reloads.
So anyway I pick up KK, and he is on my direct left, and I can practically see the steam coming out of his forehead. So I limp, he makes it $16, and then it goes call, call call. It was so obvious that tilt fish was blasting, and these guys were call happy in the first place. Like there were a bunch of hands earlier where it would go big over sized raise pre and then people would just start snapping. So anyway I make it $100 even. Steam fish gets even more mad and stews for a while before putting in the call. The field folds. The flop is a pretty disgusting AQ8 two tone, and I still have another $200 back, but whatever, I jam. Maybe small bet is better. He goes into the tank and eventually folds.
And that was pretty much it. Well earlier I had KK and three bet a nit's iso from $20 to $64 and took it down. It was kind of gross like the nit is showing so much strength with his over sized raise after folding for a while. Although he had done this before so maybe he could have as weak as 88 or AJs i'm not sure. I was putting him more like TT, AQs+. So for me to three bet such an obviously tight range, I'm not sure how I am going to get any action in that spot. OTOH flatting would be suicidal with a whole table of whales ready to join the party. This is why I don't play deep lol. Not that I was, just that these problems compound so much when you are deep.
Also another hand where I just call with KK in BB with spewfish in the straddle on my left. He was actually just about to blast again, like he got the chips out and was counting out a raise, then he looks at me suspiciously and just checks. It was actually not very long after the previous LRR hand. I end up flatting on QT8 and the betting turn 7 after the flop bettor checks and taking it down.
Anyway, gonna hit the casino again soon, hopefully this winning streak continues.
