Climbing up the stakes (Cash games) 2026
Hi guys,
I am starting this blog to document my journey of climbing up the stakes of online cash games in 2026. I was inspired by the blog that Linus created back in 2013, so i thought why not do it as well.
I haven't a set a specific stake in mind because i believe anything is possible, and i don't want to cap myself.
A little bit about myself: I am 22 years old from Portugal, I played poker professionally 2 years ago at 50nl and 20bi tournaments on pokerstars/GG/Acr. I took a break from poker because of Irl stuff and spent most of the money I made back then. When i was taking a break I did some things that were close to poker in the mathematical aspect and always thought about the game. A month ago I deposited 50€ to PS.pt and started playing because it was a long time without playing poker. I managed to turn my 50€ Bankroll to 823€ and I currently play 25NL zoom. Since i used various HUDS and pokertracking software's free 14 day trial🤣I don't have a consistent database and graphs, until two days ago which I made a hand2note pro subscription.
The goals of this blog are:
• Accountability and consistency
• Improve my poker game and meet hungry alike players
• Inspiration to other players and show that the dream is still alive with enough discipline and dedication.
I will be posting every week a bankroll and graph update, and posting and chatting daily to you guys about hands and ways to improve.
At the start of every month I will also post 3 goals that I want to achieve in that specific month.
Once i establish myself at 50NL zoom I will make a subscription to GTO Wizard and also share and ask more about study routine.
My current biggest leak:
Mental game, Ego, that leads to calling way too much on the river in big spots where I know that people don't bluff. If someone has a tip to overcome this mental leak please do speak about it🙏
I am open to any questions/discussion that you guys have and will be very happen to connect with other like minded players more privately.

Hello, GL with your journey mate. Do you have any specific hand you want to share where you called river in big pot where you knew they don’t bluff?

Hi guys, two interesting hands that I played yesterday. I know that this is probably overfolding by me but the thing is in this stakes when people overbet they are really value heavy IMO much more than in theory. in both of the hands i had bad blockers to their potential bluffs so i decided to fold. Would like to hear your opinions and thought process in this situations!
Re: your mental game leak. Try to remember that your edge is doing the right thing while it feels hard. Put effort into building the muscle of making the best decision when you recognize you're behind. The more successes you can log, the easier it becomes.
