Up a bit playing online, not a lot, nice rb is making it an okay-ish year. I had a 40k downswing online this year which was hard but we're pulling through.

Live has really sucked this year. I had a brutal WSOP where I cashed one tournament all summer, was really quite surreal.

It's been a strange year tbh, persevering though!

Going okay! Currently in LA for 23 days (one week to go). Making a backlog of content to release for the rest of the year on YT. Kinda like a series.

Episodes 1 and 2 were a little tame viewer wise but episode three did well. Episode four coming out tomorrow! Wee spoiler below.

downswings can be brutal and force you lose proper perspective

this had been one of my better years and but currently in the midst of a 30k downswing - still a good year but my mind wants to concentrate on the downswing instead and the worst part is when you realize "if i just stopped working at the end of august i'd be 30k richer and entering my 2nd month of vacation"

two days ago was my best single day ever - am i a jubilant, no, i'm still thinking about how i'm still down overall since september, and then yesterday was not good... but all in all, it was still a very good 2 day span, a two day span which if it happened every 2 days would entail untold riches and an early retirement

but the mind naturally focuses on the bad losses yesterday instead of the overall 2 day win and the overall recent downswing vs how well everything else has gone

it's tough, doing this for over a decade and yet you still can't quite shake it that pit of despair when things don't work out well

The above VLOG has been taken down for the advertisement of banned goods. This is the 3rd video I've had taken down in the last few months. You'd be forgiven for thinking that it's because I'm promoting an unregulated gambling site in Coinpoker, but it is abbbbbbsolutely nothing to do with that.

Video 1 - taken down in October - Coinpoker links in the description, however the timestamp they gave me was from a cash game hand. 90% of the video was me playing live poker in Ireland. I got a warning.

Video 2 - taken down the very next day. A VLOG of me playing 1/3 in Blackpool at the GUKPT (a UK tournament festival). Absolutely no links or mentions or references to CP, just me playing 1/3. Taken down and again the timestamp is me playing a random hand. I receive a strike.

A few months go by, I post some content with CTAs to sign up to Coin, stream highlights, run promos, yadda yadda, nothing gets flagged. As a result, the warning and strike are removed in February.

The above video however gets taken down and I get a warning. I say in the intro that I'm "doing an Instagram takeover on the Coinpoker Instagram account, I'll be posting hands and polls as 'what would you do' scenarios and incorporating them into the VLOG!". That's it, no CTA, no sign up, no code, no links, no online highlights, nada. The timestamp of the infraction is 4 minutes in where I'm shoving the river with trips.

This is infffffffffuriating. The appeal process is a complete joke, I present my case and take time to do so and they reject it within 1 minute. If I contact YouTube support, they just copy and paste the same bullshit about regulated goods rules. If I ask them to tell me exactly what I was promoting they can't do so, they aren't able to review the content, and they cannot pass it to someone who can. Sidenote - it's a different customer service rep every time and they start their correspondence with "Hi Gary, this is X, stepping in for the team here." I am not an angry person but that line gets me every time 😃

So yeah, I've had another video taken down, and received a warning. I feel like a strike is inevitable in the coming videos. Every time I get a video taken down, the timestamp of any infraction is a poker hand history, and no human who works for Google/YouTube can tell me anything about it, they just copy and paste the same bullshit over and over again. I hear through the grapevine that Brad Owen, Hustler, Corey Eyring, and several other huge poker YouTubers have had the same thing. It's a complete joke and an infuriating system.

If they flagged me for doing something I shouldn't be doing then yeah, fair doos, but every time I get flagged I'm not promoting anything/breaking any rules!!

Try complaining on X and tagging TeamYouTube. That might be your best bet to get some sort of favorable resolution. Good luck and keep up the vlogs!

I put this out today. It has survived the first 7 hours which gives me hope but I still think it'll get taken down for some bullshit reason. To be fair it's a great VLOG, enjoy while you can.

Halfway between opening and 4bet jamming, I'd decided we were half as many straddles deep as we were - I basically never play this short anymore but figured "how bad can it be" for 28str.
