If the bad beat jackpot is like 5x average, you bbjp equity cancels out rake and tips. The rooms get really full with people trying to hit it, but from a mathematical point of view, it is a really good situation.

Maybe but it is an awful lot like the theory that a Powerball ticket is +EV if the jackpot is high enough. It is true, but you most likely still will lose almost all the time. You would theoretically show a profit in the long run but it’s a VERY long run

True in a way, but if you are a winning player your expectation is to win more essentially rake free. Understood that the chances of even getting the share for the table are very small.
It's like getting a free lotto ticket each time you pay the rake.
