A bug or a feature GTO Plus/+
Hi,
I've been trying to nodelock some different river probe deviations, and I've been running into the same issue where the solver seems to change the strategy of the player whos strategy I've locked and I was wondering whether this was a bug or whether I'm missing something / don't understand something. Because of all of this I can't be sure that I'm getting accurate information.
Here is an example for context where I tried to lock the IP player to raise vs the river probe too frequently:
Here is the baseline strategy:
Here is what I locked:
and this is what keeps happening:

Dunno but it's possibly because if you only lock one node the sim will reconfigure around it. Try locking OOPs river strategy, solve, and then lock IP's response.
The solver is anticipating your nodelock and adjusting its strategy on earlier streets to minimize the damage. You can see between pic 2 & 3 that IP checks back a different range. It's subtle because you only locked one river runout, but it's enough to affect your flop and turn strategies.
Ok i realised i need to know this so ran a few trials.
You need to be locking every decision (the full range of checks/bets before action is taken), up to that decision point. Like below.
(note i didn't lock first decision because in this sim I forced OOP check)
If we're studying how gto+ might respond to IP overraising the probe then you leave that decision as it is so that the solver can recalculate it, but you lock IP to overraise the gto range. Then run the solve.
I already tried locking the entire tree before I made the post, the solver is still doing the same thing unfortunately.
You can ask scylla here:
Thanks
