2-7 NL Single Draw Lowball Hand
Middle position player raises, hero reraises in late position with T7542, BB goes allin, original raiser folds. BB stands pat. Middle rounds.
Had a brief discussion with hero about this hand. He broke his pat 10 and drew 1, obviously making him a dog to wide range of pat hands held by BB. I questioned his decision (yeah 20-20 hindsight). His comments reworded slightly.
“I will have to disagree. I doubt there are any Jacks in his range. So of his entire range, more than half of it beats my pat hand. Even if we add some Jacks to his range, it is still correct to break.”
My 1st question is BBs range linear, polarized, condensed or something else. I try to look at these situations as what does my opponent put me on IE how would he characterize my range? Does opponent put me on a polarized, range, linear range, condensed range. Suffice it to say I would think a condensed range. I am not on a wild bluff in this situation and if my hand was really high quality I would smooth call. With that stated, what is villain’s range here? I would think condensed. If he has a great hand he’ll call, make sure he gets value. He’s not coming over the top with a wild bluff since he probably put me on a condensed range.

If you are asking about the BB’s range you have to give stack sizes to provide a guess
Yeah fair point. All I know is BB had him covered. I will ask him and direct him to this thread.
I realize if BB has a mountain of chips it’s different than if he barely had him covered
