Well..deposit bonuses, good promotions, good rakeback and mantain higher guarantees into tournaments(stars needs to stop lowering the guarantees, that's why people dont play anymore)

So far, they have only those chests, which are awful(les than 20%)
They also have that red chests, with 0,5$ entries which are worthless for most of the players

In any other terms, pokerstars is the best site, the best security and the fastest withdrawals in the field

I would start ignoring gambling regulations (less KYC, make it easier to deposit large amounts, allow china)

yep...this is what caused them to start losing traffic, which meant they had to increase rake and lower GTD's, which caused a lot of loyal customers to stop playing there. Then they started imposing cash limits from certain countries further reducing the player pool.

The only way they can get back to the glory days is if they stop trying to be legit and join ACR and GG in the unregulated market.

Their hopes of being a legit poker room caused their downfall, go figure.

I dont think they can even go the unregulated route because they are owned by a publicly traded company (Flutter Entertainment), but dont quote me on that. Maybe they can idk I dont think so. As long as they are part of Flutter, pokerstars will keep shrinking and shrinking with more and more regulations coming into play.

Here's hoping they become too much of a hassle and get sold off, and if they are sold off to a private company only then can they start to regrow like a phoenix rising from the ashes

Just to be clear, as you've mentioned going rogue is obviously not an option because Flutter isn't interested in getting into any kind of trouble for a relatively unimportant part of their business.

I doubt they're too worried about what's happening to their poker market share and don't really see why they would start to pump money into that side of the business again. They could obviously buy market share back in their existing markets but I doubt they're interested in that.

Bad comparison. The second a big enough number of net depositers are back, everybody else would be back, too. But PokerStars just doesn't have that much incentive to buy them back.

By signing Phil Hellmuth as your sponsored pro whatever whatever

By giving them back to shineberg and revert all the changes including software changes that have been made over the last 14 years.

By selling the poker business to some new owner who care a little bit more about poker.

I don't think going rogue would ever be a possibility tho, so it's unfixable, no matter who buys the site.
