Did Pokerstars just changed the table selection system again?

Hey guys, I see from today that you can't choose to which table you will sit anymore and the system put you at one randomly.

Also there is a penalty if you leave without playing 12 hands which is increasing the more times you will do it.

Tables were unbeatable so I left many times and at my last time, when I decided I will end my session the penalty was 60 minutes. I am playing mostly nl100 and I guess this is the end for me at pokerstars. I don't believe I would be able to beat the games anymore.

Thoughts?

Playing at Pokerstars for more than a decade, probably i need to check my other options. I survived the 4 table cap but i might not be able to stay proffitable without table selection. If 6 experienced players play against each other then the only winner is the poker site. On the long run though that might not be the case even for the poker site cause regs will leave if there is no real opportunity. We play for profit not for the love of game. So regs are at least 5 out of 6 in each game, not sure how pokerstars thinks that letting go of 80% of their players and the rake they are leaving is good business. Any suggestions for sites accesible from Europe that allow huds?

but it seems nobody cares. Experienced players continue play with each other without fishes. Dont thay understand thats unprofitable? We must all ignore pokerstars untill they get table select back.

Final nail in coffin.

That is crazy. I see less than 100 players in the entire cash game pool. How much higher was that before this change?

8 game now also seems to be a single hand of a random game at a time, instead of set of 6.

I just seen this and it says it is to make the lobby cleaner, lol yeah and I was Elvis in a previous life. And I see they do a performance test on your system now. I wouldn't trust this site to look after a penny from here on in and given I only had an account in case I decide to play in future which now will not happen.

Good game.

a few years ago, this thread would had 7 pages in the first few hours. This says a lot about the state of pokerstars.

Actually, I like it at least I don't have to scroll a lobby every minute and bumhunting and it will be fair for everybody.

Treat it like a casino when you ready to play they will seat you wherever is free seat.
I play micros so doesn't matter too much.

I get it that for reg pros might be more challenging.
Let's see if the numbers of players will decrease or increase over the time.

In my country (germany) they also removed all fixed limit games inclusive 8game. Did you guys experienced the same?

Where have you seen this bit? Or how have you experienced it? I cannot seem to find this information anywhere?

Hi, experienced the same & contact PokerStars and this is the response:

β€žGreetings from Stars Support,

We do apologize for the late reply, unfortunately some variants were removed as they were not often played from the player and based on decision from the relevant department, they were removed.

For that reason you are not seeing them, we do not have information for the moment if they will be returned back or not. We will monitor the feedback from the players.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Regards,
Stars Supportβ€œ

So, probably β€žweβ€œ need some more feedback to get the tables back?!

Best.

Thanks for that Info. I ve send Feedback too. I think they are missing a opportunity here. They were the last onlinepokersite offering 8game as far as I know. And if you think about eg the wsop and the ppc and every top pro saying how Important it is to play all the games to be top notch. Why not go ahead and promote this Monopol and get every Player who wants to learn mixed games straight on pokerstars.

Fully agree! And actually there was a bit of traffic over the last couple of months - especially in the evening. Sure, it’s not the same if you compare it to NLH & PLO, but it was okay. As you said: I think they should push the mixed games more, because it is so fun to play…

I was livid when I saw this announcement but after a couple of days I've just noticed that I can now play 6 tables (UK player) so the cap has been raised? I've also noticed a definite reduction in the number of regs that would normally be in the games at the times I play.

If regs leave in enough numbers then this will be a negative for all. You will see rewards drop, more conditions attached to earn them and all sorts of other negative effects. This movie has been shown before and doesn't end well if enough regs leave.

Yes the cap has been raised from 4 to 6 tables. I have not played cash games on PokerStars for several years, but just for fun I played 1k hands at 10NL full ring, and it definitely seems to be softer than back in 2017-2019, when people could still play 24 tables and use seating scripts.

penalty? i'm not experiencing that, and I see a lot regs just leaving if no fish at the table..

I’ve had a weird one. So I play PLO and haven’t for a while so I always just play from the bottom and work up with aggressive bankroll management.

Yesterday I started to play 2c/5c but with a 40bb buy in.. when moving up I like to do this to get a feel of how the players are playing. Also I like playing 40bb from time to time.

Today I come and play and it will no longer let me buy in for 40bb (only at 2c/5c plo tables) and it leaves a link to their ratholing policy

How can you rathole when you can’t choose what table you join? Also if I do happen to join the same table later on why don’t they just put me on the table with the stack I had when I left?? Absolutely Bizzare.

I don’t double up and leave I want to play deep, just without having to buy in for 100bb

That’s why you will stay in micros because you rather look at it like a casino

Final nail in coffin.

They have been so consistent in doing everything in their power to bring the player pool to zero, so from Pokerstars perspective this is a major success, not a funeral.

But yes, it’s dead.

they removed the 6 max KO tournaments. I loved them.
