In other news

In the current news climate we see that some figures and events tend to dominate the front-pages heavily. Still, there are important, interesting or just plain weird things happening out there and a group of people can find these better than one.

I thought I would test with a thread for linking general news articles about "other news" and discussion. Perhaps it goes into the abyss that is page 2 and beyond, but it is worth a try.

Some guidelines:
- Try to find the "clean link", so that links to the news site directly and not a social media site. Avoid "amp-links" (google).
- Write some cliff notes on what it is about, especially if it is a video.
- It's not an excuse to make outlandish claims via proxy or link extremist content.
- If it's an editorial or opinion piece, it is polite to mark it as such.
- Note the language if it is not in English.
- There is no demand that such things be posted here, if you think a piece merits its own thread, then make one.

Yes, Los Angeles was a bayou before people moved there and shipped all the water out.

JFC that grinds my gears.

I'm inclined to go with the most likely plausible option- troubled vet, possibly suffering from PTSD and having relationship issues, committed suicide.

The problem I have with this is his letter doesn't support the narrative of someone suffering from PTSD with relationship issues, and it doesn't at all suggest he was suicidal.

Here again is his letter which came directly from the horses mouth which tells a completely different story. It sounded more like a whistleblower who the gov't wasn't happy with, who he was currently running out of the country from (DHS would def be the agency that would be trying to shut him up or arrest him).

"In case I do not make it to my decision point or on to the Mexico border I am sending this now. Please do not release this until 1JAN and keep my identity private until then.

First off I am not under duress or hostile influence or control. My first car was a 2006 Black Ford Mustang V6 for verification.

What we have been seeing with "drones" is the operational use of gravitic propulsion systems powered aircraft by most recently China in the east coast, but throughout history, the US. Only we and China have this capability. Our OPEN location for this activity in the box is below.

China has been launching them from the Atlantic from submarines for years, but this activity recently has picked up. As of now, it is just a show of force and they are using it similar to how they used the balloon for sigint and isr, which are also part of the integrated coms system. There are dozens of those balloons in the air at any given time.

The so what is because of the speed and stealth of these unmanned AC, they are the most dangerous threat to national security that has ever existed. They basically have an unlimited payload capacity and can park it over the WH if they wanted. It's checkmate.

USG needs to give the history of this, how we are employing it and weaponizing it, how China is employing them and what the way forward is. China is poised to attack anywhere in the east coast

I've been followed for over a week now from likely homeland or FBI, and they are looking to move on me and are unlikely going to let me cross into Mexico, but won't because they know I am armed and I have a massive VBIED. I've been trying to maintain a very visible profile and have kept my phone and they are definitely digitally tracking me.

I have knowledge of this program and also war crimes that were covered up during airstrikes in Nimruz province Afghanistan in 2019 by the admin, DoD, DEA and CIA. I conducted targeting for these strikes of over 125 buildings (65 were struck because of CIVCAS) that killed hundreds of civilians in a single day. USFORA continued strikes after spotting civilians on initial ISR, it was supposed to take 6 minutes and scramble all aircraft in CENTCOM. The UN basically called these war crimes, but the administration made them disappear. I was part of that cover-up with USFORA and Agent [Redacted] of the DEA. So I don't know if my abduction attempt is related to either. I worked with GEN Millers 10 staff on this as well as the response to Bala Murghab. AOB-S Commander at the time. [Redacted] can validate this.

You need to elevate this to the media so we avoid a world war because this is a mutually assured destruction situation.

For vetting my Linkedin is Matt Berg or Matthew Livelsberger, an active duty 18Z out of 1-10 my profile is public. I have an active TSSCI with UAP USAP access."

However, it's yesterday's news, the MSM's already forgotten about this story.

Resident byden just said towards the end of a press conference in Los Angeles "The good news is, as of today I'm a great grandfather!" while he, the governor and others stood there in applause with big smiles on their faces. What a disgrace he is with these destructive fires going on, he's so out of touch with reality.

100% you didn’t come up with that .

I live in LA area. It hasn't rained yet this year, and 70 deg weather with 100 mpg winds not a good combination.

I dont live near any large native vegetation habitats so no personal risk. Although insurance premiums are going to be going up up up. All the major insurance carriers were actually pulling out of California because there was some state laws which limited how much they could raise prices. Newsom just caved in and amended the laws so prices can go up, so the pain is coming.

It certainly not because of climate changes .

I saw a video today of a homeowner upset because she lost her house and they recently cancelled her insurance.

Think of the hundreds of billions of dollars we've sent to Ukraine. This is horrible.

There have been Santa ana winds and dry brush in southern California since before the industrial revolution. The excess of dry fuel to burn is an effect of humans settling there and suppressing natural fires because they don't want their houses burning down every 10 years or so but I think climate change plays a pretty small part in this case.

So if the money didn't go to Ukraine you're fine with the govt reimbursing every citizen's loss for every natural or man-made disaster in the country? I mean I think it would be great but sounds pretty communist of you. As Victor would say, welcome comrade!

In this particular area, Santa Monica Mts, it isn’t due to fire suppression. It is simply the natural cycle for chaparral to build up dead fuel and wait to burn to rejuvenate. The plants have evolved to this. You can’t get rid of the chaparral though as it is needed to prevent flooding and landslides. That is what the homeowners don’t want since that would happen most years opposed to a wildfire every 20, which may not even affect you.

Looks like the insurance companies dodged a bullet though as the Palisades , Malibu, Brentwood were the primary zip codes affected in SoCal when State Farm and Farmers dropped 50,000 policy holders last year.

No. I'm talking about things like FEMA's budget. Remember after the NC hurricaine they announced they have no more money for future emergencies? The people in NC HATE fema. I know this personally because someone I know through my paramotor instructor lives there and I've seen his videos of fema driving by and the residence cursing at them and giving them the finger, that's because they were left out to dry. The $750 checks, when they were quick to say "that's just an immediate financial help, there's more coming" ended up being only 300. Last I heard there were still people on lists waiting for permanent housing, and if the residents there didn't go public in the fall about people still living in tents with no heat with winter coming, they would of still been out there.

People will understand what I'm talking about in this disaster, just wait and see how great FEMA takes care of everyone.

Got news for you buddy, a bunch of people that lost their houses to the fire also aren't going to have government housing.
Funny thing is if FEMA did supply some temp housing, you and your para instructor would probably immediately be "zomg, FEMA camps!"

Mike Tiabbi

Never heard of him 😀

Regardless of what anyone thinksl about Trump, it’s hard to ignore the fact that for years he's been vocal about California’s dry forests and the abnormal amounts of fires. He tried to bring about a solution, and the Dems called him Hitler. But the pResident they voted for today at a news conference bragged about him being a great grandfather today. Go figure.

These aren't your leaders, these are puppets who don't care about you.

where i live in maine had a major storm last winter

the storm surge was so big that the ocean literally picked homes up off their foundations and brought them out to sea

here's a video of some of the homes floating in the bay

we were very lucky, the natural shape of the sound we are on made it safer from the storm and being elevated a bit more it never flooded despite being right on the water

even those who's home stayed attached to their foundation are complete teardowns

despite that nothing like this has ever happened before, the insurance companies declared to everyone that lost their home that they will not provide coverage going forward because of climate change

What does insurance companies , private entities , has anything to do with public funding going to Ukraine????

But knowing how you dont like democracies I get your point .

Yes but that just isn’t about just fires .
Insurance companies has to cover many different risk with a gigantic pool of money .
If it was just about fires they could of do something about it but it isn’t , it’s flood, tornado/wind, fires, etc .
That pool of money can’t cover it all and they need to pick and choose what they need to lay off , that is climate changes causing it ….
