In the current news climate we see that some figures and events tend to dominate the front-pages heavily. Still, there are important, interesting or just plain weird things happening out there and a group of people can find these better than one.
I thought I would test with a thread for linking general news articles about "other news" and discussion. Perhaps it goes into the abyss that is page 2 and beyond, but it is worth a try.
Some guidelines:
- Try to find the "clean link", so that links to the news site directly and not a social media site. Avoid "amp-links" (google).
- Write some cliff notes on what it is about, especially if it is a video.
- It's not an excuse to make outlandish claims via proxy or link extremist content.
- If it's an editorial or opinion piece, it is polite to mark it as such.
- Note the language if it is not in English.
- There is no demand that such things be posted here, if you think a piece merits its own thread, then make one.

Thery're new laws. I was arguing for such laws when nothing existed and it was dismissed in these parts as impossible sillyness
A decade or so later it's here and developing very seriously
some members of parliament and elected local politicians (including some vice governors of brasilian states and whatnot) are publicly defying the completly unconstitutional order by the crazy mussolini judge, we'll see how it evolves
Not sure who believes that a judge can invent fines for activities he dislikes (like banning the use of VPNs) under brasilian law, but their rule of law is very weak so unclear what will happen now

Badly prepared eggplant is really, really bad. Much more so than other things. And it's not easy to get right. I definitely wouldn't order it at a random place.
My rules for new pizza places-- Fri/Sat only when the first stringers should be out. Cheese or Pepperoni only because if they can't nail those I doubt anything else is going to be good either. No second chances.

in Italy we cut slices, put salt on them to remove the bitter water, dry then then oven (usually) or grills it's pretty standard practice, including when put on pizza
ye ok it's just that this doesn't happen here but I suppose it's because places are open continuously where you live? here for dinner a pizzeria opens at 7 or 7:30 pm until 11 or whatever and there is no team rotation.
if a place has kitchen open continuously say 10am to 10pm that's actually a tourist trap / huge red flag a normal Italian would never go to eat at
it might be the case that starlink got funds frozen because it refused to ban Twitter for the people using it for internet access but it's unclear as the only source claiming that that I found is the guardian.
it's also unclear if all VPNs are blocked (with app stores being forced to remove them under threat of repercussions as reported by many sources) or only using a VPN to access Twitter is now forbidden behavior in brazil
