In other news

In the current news climate we see that some figures and events tend to dominate the front-pages heavily. Still, there are important, interesting or just plain weird things happening out there and a group of people can find these better than one.

I thought I would test with a thread for linking general news articles about "other news" and discussion. Perhaps it goes into the abyss that is page 2 and beyond, but it is worth a try.

Some guidelines:
- Try to find the "clean link", so that links to the news site directly and not a social media site. Avoid "amp-links" (google).
- Write some cliff notes on what it is about, especially if it is a video.
- It's not an excuse to make outlandish claims via proxy or link extremist content.
- If it's an editorial or opinion piece, it is polite to mark it as such.
- Note the language if it is not in English.
- There is no demand that such things be posted here, if you think a piece merits its own thread, then make one.

UK tabloid Daily Express and Times of India reports alleged attempted poisoning of Bashar al Assad

The source is apparently a dodgy telegram account though, so this could well be fake news. I wouldn't consider the Express a reliable source

In other news, noted liar trips over his own dick to lie again to try to land some snark

Or, I reported what was reported at the time and I also corrected it later on when information changed.

Anyway let's regulate truck more !

FBI now saying they think Jabbar acted alone and Sky news reported that the F3eds have found no connection so far to Las Vegas would be bomber.

Are you suggesting that a bomb that could destroy part of a building from the outside was not sufficient to do much damage the body of a Tesla?

Lol Didace is moving up the Xnerd power rankings

My social media feed keeps showing the same clip of a FBI agent (who happens to be a black female with a nose ring) announce they are taking over the investigation and stating it wasn't terrorism but was an IED (like the 2 are mutually exclusive somehow). I am having trouble wrapping my mind around the thought process behind the FBI making this statement.

Link? All I have seen is the sheriff doing the press reports live.

It's all over rightwing twitter, this is just the first account that has it when searching for "FBI not terrorism"

https://x.com/ThorpeWatch/status/1874510...

afaik they since changed tunes, said there might have been other people involved (latest is they think they weren't), and they are investigating it as terrorism right now

She initially stated it wasn't terrorism, but the FBI later amended that to it was terrorism.

Duncan was also criticized when she contradicted the claim by NOLA's mayor that the attack was terrorist in nature.

'This is not a terrorist event,' Duncan claimed before the FBI confirmed that indeed the attack was a terror one.

Meanwhile Matthew Livelsberger, the other suspected terrorist (the guy who tried to make the cybertruck explode) , looks like the other guy who attempted Trump 2nd assassination in the golf club, ie a never-trumpian ultra-pro ukraine person involved with trying to find volunteers to go fight in Ukraine

at a televised press conference a few hours after the attack the FBI said it wasnt terrorism while the mayor said it was.

then hours later FBI said it was indeed terrorism and multiple people were involved.

now they are saying it was solo. this ofc seems weird bc the name of the guy who blew up in the Tesla was released.

my guess is that these electric trucks are MKUltraed and they are programmed to turn your brain into an ISIS fanatic and do terrorism.

The accomplices-solo "debate" was about the new orleans massacre afaik not about the cybertrunk explosion

Elon propagates conspiracy theories regarding a possible Ft Bragg connection between the three

After googling, I can't find any verification for the claim that Routh visited Ft Bragg, outside of X /Twitter or fringe forums.

That's what you previously reported was on the daily mail no?

No, the DM link was wrt the FBI statement initially saying the New Orleans attack wasn't terrorism. But both Jabbar and Livelsberger did apparently serve at the same base although so far there's no connection between them. However, Musk and also UK politician George Galloway are linking conspiracy theories re Trump's alleged would be assassin, Ryan Routh, saying he visited ft Bragg over 100 times before attempting to kill Trump.
There were similar CT's earlier last year, regarding Routh and Thomas Crook and possible connection as both had appeared in commercials for some institute. X gonna X.

Routh having visited fort bragg a lot of times was from december 21st though, not something made up in connection with recent events

Seems like lay members of the public using social media to try and work out what's happened as news is breaking isn't a very effective idea

They were trying to make a connection between the three and Ft Bragg, which obviously was doing psyops or making Manchurian candidates or MK Ultra or whatever other nefarious stuff internet paranoiacs think military bases get up to.

Btw Elon is recently linking posts by a known far right user called Radio Genoa, who's quite possibly a Kremlin bot. Not a good look for him, to go with the boatload of other things which aren't a good look for him.

It's actually a very good way usually to determine who is trying to push which narrative and how, which happens very frequently.

A lot of media acts in inherently malicious ways when covering these events for very specific agenda, but usually reverts to be "forced" to admit the truth when that's provable in a sustained way (and usually that is followed by sandbagging the event, if it can't be spinned in favor of the media ideological tribe)

With that kind of thinking, Playbig will never get his wings.

Thanks, I was confusing it with the pressers for the LV truck explosion too.

Yh this thread is full of ppl doing the same

It's perfectly fine for the public, through social media, to exchange information or share videos or pictures of a particular event or read eye witnesses testimonials of people who witnessed an event. What's incompetent however is the FBI immediately saying "It wasn't terrorism" then saying "It was terrorism", or saying "He acted alone" then "he acted with 4 other individuals" then back to "he acted alone" all within hours of each other. Until Kash Patel is able to clean this compromised agency out, I would take everything the FBI says with a grain of salt. This will become much more apparent over the next 18 days.

The investigation is ongoing so they could be simply keeping the public abreast of things. That said they should wait until they get more definitive answers before making public statements, imo.

Maybe but we have 0 clout and reach that's why the chances we actually believe what we write is useful is much higher
