I think that the vast majority of people don’t have the same attitude of you of wanting to secede from a country because you pay more in taxes, and that it’s a very poor understanding of how countries work.

Also to your first point, I think oftentimes we run into a situation where people only care about immigration from countries with certain skin colors. That’s how it works in the US. I’ve never heard complaints about British and French people coming over to steal our good jobs.

because British and french people who come into the USA these days are all educated with very good job prospects (btw many of them aren't white).

I must admit that was a great nickname conservatives came up with - it reminded female voters about where the Republican party stands regarding women and agency over their own bodies. Another goal for the other team.
