269-269 is a possibility right?

Mad how this is pretty much a 50/50 coin flip, AKs v 22 aipf

Trump with AKs
Harris with 22

Umm you didn't mention if one of the deuces is the same suit as the AKs...it matter who is ahead.

This is true my heart for a reason. I'm a cash game player, but the only live tournament I ever played, I won with the final hand of me having 22 versus big slick and I had his suit (used the win on a down payment on my first house). I won, he curse, and i told him I was ahead and he called bullcrap. This was before everyone had a internet enabled cellphone so at the time I had no way to prove it to him.

isnt there the one state that has 5 electoral votes and 4 could go Trump and 1 Kamala and giver her the win. The reality is Kamala is going to win as Trump is just running the worst campaign

This is the current state of the race by all accounts with seven toss up states. There are three combinations that result in a 269-269 tie. The house of representatives would then pick the president and the senate picks the vice president. The house is currently controlled by the GOP so most likely trump wins on a tie. But the funny thing is the DEMs control the senate so you could end up with a DEM vice president.

can they choose anyone as the VP in that case, or mist it be either Walz or Vance?

That would be so good especially if they did not pick Trump

It’s objectively an affront to civility and good taste, though I admit there are plenty of people who, unburdened by those anchors, like it just fine.

you "objectively dislike it" yes

From a quick look only way I can see it ending a tie is if dems win AZ/NC/GA for 43 more and reps win NV/WI/MI/PA for 50 more

Course i'm completely ignoring the slight red/blue states, just focusing on the 7 toss-ups

There is a safety net locked in that congress must pick from the people that were on the general election ballots. In case of a 269-269 electoral tie, the House delegations can cast their vote for president from among the three candidates receiving the most electoral votes, while Senators are limited to the top two candidates in their vote for Vice-President.

This would be disastrous if it meant a dem vice president as border czar.

i think you're probably in luck, since that is a fictional position.

No matter how many times the media says it, the vice president isn't a "border czar." That's just entirely made up.

Sure, who cares what the title is. The VP isn't really anything. But they are assigned various tasks, such as controlling the border. Seems reasonable for 'border czar' to be an appropriate nickname for someone who is assigned to control the border.

That's just an example of course.

If someone was assigned to lie to the press, would be reasonable to call them press czar, or press secretary.

Aren't you Canadian?

Aren't you Canadian?

I am indeed. I have dual citizenship and lived in the United States for a long time.

They CAN be assigned tasks related to the border. For example, Kamala Harris was assigned to the task of addressing the root cause of migration from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. She succeeded admirably at this task. However, critics use the term "border czar" to try to imply that she had a different task than what she was assigned. It's basically just disinformation.

Did you flee in 2016?

Czar would imply that she had a lot of power and control yet that isn't the case. That is quite obviously the point though since the word is being used to frame her as a failure.

Whatever her task was, it isn't working.

What if she was tasked with making morons think she failed?

Moron Czar?

she didn't have particular powers at the border but her role involved dealing with central America situations and trying to convince people not to come to the USA from there and what not.

what we got instead was TPS for Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras and Haiti, and that is something she is personally responsible for.

why are the USA allowing illegals from those 4 countries to stay through executive action?

wait so if the House votes trump in , in a 269-269 situation, the VP is going to be Harris necessarily? like in the old times?

Based on what I read I believe the basis for those 4 countries is that things are so bad it would be considered inhumane to send them back.

TPS went into effect in January 2024 and immigration is down severely in recent months so I'd dare say that TPS has literally nothing to do with a negative veiw of Kamala's work

If not Kamala, can we blame Mayorkas and the administration in general? Disastrous.
