Republicans can probably lose the presidency barely and keep the house.
Can't we reenable the conspiracy containment thread and get back to the old, "Cite or ban" by a mod and do some banning around here?

Still seeing numbers that indicate a clear Harris victory everywhere. Turnout is huge, and when turnout is high, democrats win in all the swing states, historically. Female turnout is through the roof. Every indication is the polling of the last month has been an absolute joke, and every indicator before that was a clear Harris victory.
I don't see how any Trumper without their head in the sand would be remotely confident.

but if a similar post was made in favor of Trump or even just expressing slight anger at the Dems and Kamala then they would be howling for a ban.

That’s fine and I don’t disagree but I’m not talking about the individual coming to a personal realization. The people who have had a change of heart more than likely came to that as a result of seeing a Trump administration in action, not being castigated. Choosing to blame them isn’t helping but considering who you failed to reach (whose issue isn’t totally outside the bounds of the party’s identity) might.
Again, I don’t think anything I do will “help”. It’s just accurate to blame them and they agree. If people were smarter and less susceptible to both sidesism propoganda, 2016 would have been the end of trumpism snd we’d likely be in a much better place overall.
Also I think the funniest part of BJ’s post is that by definition if he got what he wanted he would be banned from interacting with the ‘leftists’ because they’re in their own containment thread

Basic idea is that you tell someone like PB that he can't post his conspiracy lunacy outside the containment thread. And then he gets a ban if he doesn't comply.

At this point, there’s enough new polling that it’s hard to know exactly what’s influencing the model, but Harris is gaining in our forecast, and it’s converging toward a truly 50/50 forecast. A strong set of YouGov polls, plus a Washington Post poll showing her ahead by 1 point in Pennsylvania, are surely part of the reason why. Her win probability remains ever-so-slightly below Trump’s but is the highest it has been in two weeks.

And being accurate doesn’t make it politically beneficial in the context I’m talking about. They can be technically right to some degree and nonetheless hurting their cause if the commentary focuses on how stupid, racist, misogynistic, etc the people are who choose not to vote Democrat.

Parachuting in after reading a few of the most recent pages. Here are my feelings:
- Kamala wins
- Brown wins, but Tester doesn't make it
- Cruz barely holds on in Texas. I think it will be like Ron Johnson/Barnes level of close. I think too many right leaning individuals moved to Texas during Covid and Texans do not vote. We need more cycles and investment to flip Cruz out.
- Polling industry will have a reckoning if it's a blow out either way. I think they are not capturing Democratic/independents similar to how they did not capture Republicans in 2016. The cross tabs on a lot of polls are WHACK
- If Trump loses, I don't think he runs again in 2028 (prison, age, health, etc.). If he doesn't run, he will put zero effort into helping his GOP successor or he will try to burn down the GOP if he feels they are not giving him enough respect. If someone like Charlie Baker or Hogan run for the nomination and get it and they talk ill of Trump, he's going to go nuclear on the GOP.
Prediction: if Kamala wins the election I will make a post that says “the patriots are in control! Long live the deep state and the uniparty!”

Here's why I hope Kamala wins, although I don't think it matters much as far as my day-to-day goes. If Trump wins, this playbook of acting the way he does carries on. If Trump loses, hopefully the GOP burns itself down and adults build it back up? Hopefully?
