You do realize that crime data can be very inaccurate as most people have given up on reporting many crimes as they know current laws in some states make it a waste of time, police forces are understaffed and prosecutors refuse to prosecute many crimes .

That is not a viable option all you can see what goes on around you take a decent size city that I lived in and I had a knife pulled on me in a liquor store as I stepped in front of a young man walking out with 3-4 bottles of booze he intended to steal . The man told me to move after pulling out a blade or he would kill me. Of course I moved when I asked the clerk did he want me to stick around for the cops he said nope not calling them this happens 5 times a day we just stopped reporting it .

I know many folks had stuff stolen and if its under a certain limit don't bother to report it as Insurance deductibles are so high
