Trump 2nd term prediction thread

Trump 2nd term prediction thread

So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.

Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.

A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.

I'm not so sure we can say that democracy isn't at risk. We just had someone who almost became President without being selected by voters in a primary. We've got pardons for undisclosed crimes going back 11 years, which is an oddly specific number. We were also assured our President was mentally fit, until it was apparent he isn't. Don't forget that they is still officially serving as President. We don't know who is making the decisions right now. Voters saw these threats to democracy.

This is some amazing sophistry. I'm aware that you don't understand why, - it's because you are as smart as that post. But I do want to ask something though - you seem like a fairly bipartisan/nonpartisan poster. Why make a post that is so hyperpartisan that it makes people like me think you are a bit of an idiot?

This is one of the dumbest GOP talking points imo.

I've mentioned this before, but both parties selected presidential candidates in the United States for almost two hundred years without holding primaries. Also, by the time Biden stepped down, it obviously wasn't possible to do anything other than nominate a candidate.

But then you can't have a false equivalency about how democrats are the ones who are actually against democracy... not the actual fascist that attempted a coup.

With Hegseth... how bad of a human do you have to be to have your mom write a public letter like that about you?

I have two kids... I can't think of anything that would move me to do that unless they were irredeemable POS.

I wish we could get beyond the left/right narrative and just use our fkn brains for a second. If you're suggesting people like this in your cabinet, it demonstrates something really vile about who you are as a human.

How do we break the spell of this cult? It's just insane to watch this.

See the problem is the left wing media does not give you all the facts. She wrote an e-mail to him 7 years ago telling him to get his life together and two hours later wrote one apologizing for that e-mail . Did the man go through a part of his life that was screwed up? No question how many tours in Afghanistan did he do? Is he the right pick? Ill take him over some general in the defense contractors grasp

You think the Biden's didn't go through this with Hunter Biden?

Wow Bernie Sanders agrees with Trump on making Canada the 51 st state . Though Western Canada should be one state and eastern the 52 state

I think most of the media covered it correct. It was in 2018. I don't think people change that much. You can go through trauma, have personal issues, rebound, but most people's core doesn't radically change. It's an extremely rare occurrence. Research suggest it's < 5% of people, but that even seems extremely high to me.

He's had two recent allegations of sexual assault since that time. Is is possible he had some PTSD from active duty and got his sht together... sure. But the current evidence and common sense doesn't point that way.

Canada our 51st state? Governor Trudeau?

Texas May Pay The Ultimate Price For Trump's Policies

No part of the country will be spared from Donald Trump's forthcoming trade war,
but economists are predicting that the worst impacts will be felt in the deep red state of Texas.

I would say look at Hunter Biden he has changed dramatically in that amount of time

It’s ok to blame democrats because gop made a fake race of presidential nominee candidates ?
Lol .
Trump didn’t had to participate in a debate once , he was always alone in the race since the beginning shrug .

Kamala was the vp and not many vp didn’t end up being the rightful candidate afterwards anyway …

Weak troll attempt by camp .

Fake race? They had votes in all the states and card carrying GOP folks elected him as their candidate . The Dems anointed Kamala.

Anointed? She was elected via delegates the same way trump was.

Anointed? She was elected via delegates the same way trump was.

So they held a secret parmary election for her?

She was installed as their candidate, no matter how you wanna spin it.

No, it was quite public. Here is a link so you can learn all about it.

DNC virtual roll call vote ends with Kamala Harris receiving 99% of delegate votes. Here are the full results.

Washington — The Democratic National Committee's virtual roll call vote has closed, and the Democratic Party announced that Vice President Kamala Harris received the votes of 99% of the participating delegates.

In a statement late Monday, Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison and Minyon Moore, the Democratic National Convention committee chair, said that the roll call results would next be certified by the convention's secretary, Jason Rae, formalizing Harris' status as the Democratic nominee who will take on Republican nominee Donald Trump in November.

by lozen k

She was chosen by Joe

She was voted in by delegates who are bound to represent the people of their district's best interest, just like the republican delegates. It's hilarious how clueless you guys are about how democracy works in this country. If you think there was some foul play involved, tell me who was running against her for the position and why you think more delegates should have voted for that person despite the DNC using surveys and questionnaires to determine that their constituents wanted their delegates to vote for Kamala Harris.

I await your fascinating replies that completely dodge this question.

You should also note that the DNC is free to select their candidate with their own selection process. They are not bound by the constitution to do it a certain way. They are just a party not part of the government. If you don't like who they put forth as their candidate or how that candidate was selected, you are certainly free to not vote for that candidate.

There were no primaries or caucuses for her. I'm not talking about delegates agreeing to replace her with sleepy joe the stooge, I'm talking about the democratic process of how we elect presidential candidates to be placed on the ballot to run for office.

by Playbig2000 k

There were no primaries or caucuses for her.

Yes, the DNC primary process includes the delegates voting for Harris. Obviously Biden was running and she wasn't during the main primary election, but after he dropped out, the delegates had already been awarded to Biden and had to vote for someone else. They used surveys and questionnaires to determine who their constituents wanted them to vote for, which served as another form of primary, and they followed through on that. This isn't even complicated. You don't have to like it, but that's the process. If you don't like it, you are free to not be a part of the party. No one's making you.

by Playbig2000 k

Who is "we" my guy? You a member of the democratic party? The democratic party followed their rules exactly to place her on the ballot to run for office. Sorry if you don't like that.

Did you know that you can start a political party and use any way of selecting a candidate you choose? You can make a Tin Foil Brigade party and write in your bylaws that the candidate with the thickest tin foil hat will be the party's nominee as long as you register with the FEC and follow their financial rules. If you do that, no one will accuse you of trying to subvert democracy. We just won't vote for your DF candidate.

It was perfectly legal according to the DNC rules as was what they did to Bernie. It was a tight timeline and I still think they could have had a primary but Joe chose Kamala . Hey all is good for the GOP as the choice led to a Trump victory . No complaints from them. I think Joe anointing Kamala made it impossible for a primary.
Will see how Kamala does in a primary system in 2028 if she decides to run

So, you are saying the whole party from top to bottom are a BUNCH OF DUMBASSES who voted for the worst possible candidate to take on donald Trump.

Joe didn't choose Harris. He had no say in it. The delegates did, and they voted based on the preference of their constituents.

Still fake .
Like Biden hiding in 2020 to win the election you love to claim ?
Trump didn’t do anything , just hiding from anything race related since he was way ahead since the beginning of the race .
