Trump 2nd term prediction thread
So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.
Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.
A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.
How would that be a "dem supporter's" fault?
It's sure as hell better to be a "dem supporter" than to have voted for this s show.
typical Dem motto. as long as they can punch down on Repubs and keep the left suppressed then they are happy.
Repeating. How would that be a "dem supporter's" fault?

Apparently the fact that half the American public wants to vote in a bunch of rapey morons is the fault of the party who couldn't put forward a "good enough candidate", not of the people who voted them in. Where's that Trumper who liked to preach about agency when you need him, he should weigh in on that.

Still not any dem supporter's fault. It's directly the fault of anyone that didn't vote for Harris. Directly. Nobody else has any blame for it.
Just here for his infantile attempts to hurl unwarranted insults, though.

half eh? maybe check the $tat$ on that one budday.

Just like Republicans, it's Democrats job to win over voters. If they fail, it's largely on them. You can place some of the blame on right wing propaganda, but at some point, you have to look in the mirror.

Correct. The Democrats did not do enough to court the vote of the ignorant bigot who is easily spooked by scary monsters. Trump's promise to use the powers of the Presidency to vindictively and pettily torment those he hates is something the Democrats simply couldn't match.

those people that made Trump win, voted for Biden in 2020.
democrats did SOMETHING that made them change their mind, and that's exclusively democrats' fault.
you can try to deny that but it's true.

Why are you assuming that Trump/TheGOP didn't do something to change the minds of these people about how to vote? Why are you assuming that they were repelled by Biden, as opposed to attracted by Trump? Is it because you know that Trump and everything about him is inherently unattractive, and thus the only way one would run to him is if they were running away from something else? I think it is.

If you build it, they will come.
5thStreet made some posts in the "woke" thread that are worth contemplating.
Oh, I see, you are being pedantic and pointing out that "half the public" and "half of those who voted" aren't the same thing. Well spotted, although I think in this context it's blindingly obvious exactly what I meant. Also, there is no reason to suspect that those who voted are not a reasonable proxy for the views of those who didn't.

Don't fall into Luciom's binary though process. An election loss is like a sport loss. Sometimes:
1. the other team beats you,
2. you beat yourself.
3. they beat you and you trip over your d**k all game,
4. time just runs out.
Different states probably were lost for different reasons.

Maybe, but not "dem supporters." The politicians and the campaign sure. I'm talking about the voters.

whatever trump did was to convince people who were "wise and good" to vote for him so if he managed, that's still on you.
blaming them for stopping endorsing your guys is obscene and so antidemocratic someone could claim it's eversion.
their opinion is the sovereign power in a democracy. you are, as a political party / tribe, the HUMBLE SERVANT of that opinion. your role is to satisfy it by any mean necessary inside the constitution.
that's the ****ing rules of the game and the spirit upon which the entire society is built.
if you refuse that like Trump did when he refused to accept he lost the game , you are as insurrectionist as trump was if not more.
it's your job to convince them by any mean necessary. it's your job to do it better than your opponent. and it's people *who already voted for your tribe*!!!!!
I am not assuming they were repelled by Biden until the debate. in fact they weren't, approval rates were decent, polls were decent.
When they understood the democratic party lied to them disgustingly keeping a demented president as a candidate for "4 more years" some of them started hating you and they were right.
it was insulting , it was disgusting, it was a fraud attempt, and you paid the price.

No I am pointing out that you ignored the approx 90m people that didn't vote for Trump or for genocide. We are the silent majority, or to be pedantic, the silent plurality😀

imagine "not voting for trump or genocide" which caused trump to get elected and leaving you with no chance to help the genocide and trump in office anyway (and thus the current sh show) and trying to blame others for their voting decisions.
what a trainwreck

I have no guy.
I did not run or work for a campaign. The fact that idiots buy Trump's bullshit and are oblivious to the threat he poses is in no way, shape, or form on me.
The fact that the Democrats refuse to get into the gutter with the GOP is also not on me. I am not a Democrat. I am all for them meeting the GOP where they live, and throwing any norms and shred of civility out the window and obliterating Trump for what he is.
The bolded is exactly what the GOP has done. Only they nominated a malicious, sociopathic demented nutjob to be POTUS when the elites in the party know damn well he's a dangerous whacko. The Dems nominated a BlackChick. How awful.

it is a national security threat to still have Biden as president because he was an okay guy in the past but he is utterly incapable of making any decisions right now.
someone else is taking decisions for him in complete defiance of the constitution and this alone is infinitely worse than everything that Trump did (including Jan 6if you want to blame that on him which you shouldn't).
what's going on right now, since months ago, is the worst dereliction of duty by institutions in American history, letting a demented person stay as president.
it will probably end up being fine because enemies aren't sure what will happen if they push now, who is signing documents , who is making war decisions, and trump is coming soon to fix the insanity, but that the 25a hasn't been used is completely unacceptable and so beyond the pale I don't understand how you can defend that at all no matter what you think of Trump.
Biden is not capable of fulfilling his role because of visible, transparent health issues and it's kinda criminal to keep him there
If Biden is demented due to his speech patterns, how is Trump not? He speaks in word salad all the ****ing time. I posted examples last time this discussion came up.
