Nancy Pelosi...
wish we could see real time congressman stock trades
What was Warren Buffet's famous bet? No five top hedge funds picked by Ted Seides could beat the S&P 500 over 10 years, hedge funds did 22%, S&P did 125%. I actually bought some AREC after hearing members of congress were buying, not much though only $25k.
In mid October she was up 92% for the year. Sounds like just a case of run good to me: https://medium.com/@tzjy/nancy-pelosis-p...
She also almost tripled the return of the S&P in 2023:
.But the really smart people (the same really smart people who thought that Kamila would win, but were undone by stupid minorities) know this is just random. Nothing to see here at all.
They know you can trust Pelosi, just like you could trust Democrats when they said Biden was mentally fit before the debate. The same way they knew they could trust Biden when we
Being up 92% or tripling the retuns of SPY isnt the accomplishment that the mouthbreathers think it is. Nvida is up 700% in 2 years. Tesla ... 200%.
She sold around a half a mil of google and visa at the bottom juat to buy the other tech with similar returns. She likely didnt like her loses, took them for obv reasons and bought some different other appealing looking tech.
She likes nvidia and tesla and apple. That level of knowledge surpasses her own results in the market be becauae she sold some **** just to rebuy again at higher prices.
Shes a nobody
I always think who could be dumb enough yesh I tried to explain risk adjusted returns and how easy it is to beat the SP500 with heavy bets on a specific sector. It will work until it doesn’t and it’s obvious she’ll go back to underperforming the SP500 when mega cap tech stops do.
Not really. Pretty bad underperformance in 2022. If you know nothing about finance risk or the hedge fund industry and aren’t very bright in general I could see hiw someone could be impressed though.
Nvida was .45c in 2014, its 130 now - almost 100x. Apple was 25, its 250 now, 10x.
She did well, but she didn't buy up a bunch of microcaps that surged, or even timed the big caps well. She just held invidia and mostly apple and that was well above those returns - and that was her best trades.
Maybe she knew those particular two companies were better than we did. But that's really as far is it could go on that front. And if she did, she lost out on a lot of it.
...imagine the rustled feathers if she bought bticoin at 100 in 2014 and beat the S@P by 500x.
Pretty impressive return of +200% -> NONE HEDGE for sp500 !
If someone got lucky with 1 or 2 great hedge preventing big drop and doubling down on the buying dips from the crash (not taking into account option trading on nvdia, Tesla , etc) can make some pretty big returns .
Praise the lord for the miracle of buybacks !
It would be interesting to see if she decides to liquidate any NVDA in the near future and if she did so, I'd probably make some plays similar to that in some regard. Because I'd assume that there would have been something brought to her that convinced her to break trend from something like that.
Because if we did enter a credible recession, and AI growth slows, the floor falls from under that stock. And if she doesn't, then she would just beat the S@P on the way down.
