UnitedHealth CEO Assassinated

UnitedHealth CEO Assassinated

The murder of UnitedHealthcare's CEO is a strange story. On the one hand, the killer obviously was taking steps to avoid getting caught. He was wearing a hoodie. He used a silencer. He clearly had an escape plan.

On the other hand, he was wearing a distinctive backpack. He may have left a food wrapper and a water bottle at the scene. And there was writing on each of the three shell casings (the words "deny," "defend," and "depose").

Maybe he expected to get caught, and was fleeing on an off-chance?

Maybe it's not him but a fall guy from his group (if there is one)?

He's apparently and unsurprisingly a rabid anti-cap, so he may not be the most cognizant of his surroundings.

I'm not an insurance exec. I'm a trial attorney, so somewhere on the list of people that you guys would be happy about if I were murdered.

Sounds like an important role for the locking up of millions of people.

Seems like he's a big fan of silicon valley tech dudes. Gonna guess he doesn't have a consistent ideology.

Data engineer.

Have we heard from d2 since the arrest?

Rule #1, always dump the gun. Organized crime had a procedure, put the weapon in a bag, add fresh dog poo. Put that bag inside another bag, add more fresh dog poo. Dump in a fast-food trash can. Should anyone open the first bag all they see is dog crap, they won't open the second one. Easy game.

Reporting that they found a silencer and a bunch of fake IDs on him.

What's the O/U on his go fund me legal fund? 5mil?

I have a family member who does health insurance claims, and she says all the cheering (especially from doctors who they interact with mainly) haven't been great for morale.

People generally don't think much of other people who (they perceive) make their job harder every single day of their work life--especially if they have nearly always thought they were the smartest person in the room.

If the guy is this re-tarded, how did it take so long to catch him? This is obviously some kind of conspiracy.

Didn't someone earlier post here that there might have been several imposters dressed and acting similarly in the area of the crime scene?

This is the McDonalds where he was recognized by customers:

Why would he go to McDonald's if he could go to Popeyes or Wendy's?

It's McRib season!

The suspects name is Luigi Mangione.

Is his dad Chuck?

So the dude looks like this but hangs out at McDonalds? Something isn't adding up.

That was me I guess, and pure speculation. I still think though that the persons in the two sets of photos are not the same.

up until like yesterday SV tech bros were overwhelmingly rabid leftist extremists, or have you forgot the "inclusive" AI image generation giving us black vikings and popes?

I don't think the tech bros are anti-capitalist, but thanks for sharing.

O. Seems doubtful go fund me would allow it.

Plot twist.
Brian Thompson was getting ready to announce buy back of all public shares and UHC was going private and non profit and turn the US health industry around. His peers took him out.

I'm not convinced that the bolded is an indispensable part of fraud prevention. Credit card fraud is also widespread, but if there is an unauthorized charge, credit card companies generally don't spend a bunch of time forcing you to prove that you didn't authorize someone to use your credit card number to buy a 60-inch TV from a Best Buy in Toledo.

the first time. then you get flagged.

next time it doesn't work the same.

and btw the money is lost by the merchant or the bank, never by the credit card network which does the anti fraud checks.

and they don't go after the consumer because it's good business for them (otherwise far fewer people would use credit cards) and because the law caps what you can ask the customer in those cases at 50 bucks.

CICO.

But sure, that's not as entertaining as going off on conspiracy theories about a dude with a modest physique having a Big Mac.

The guy made a mistake. It was an error in judgement.

i would like to see how luciom reacts when luigi's manifesto declares he was acting in the best interest of the stock holders of his vigilante assassin organization

Im going to assume that the guy didnt mind getting caught.

I think when youve reached the point of risking your life to kill an insurance bro, youve already depleted whatever self worth you had left.

Politics is a hell of a drug for some.

Well he's been a net positive for NYC and possibly the country. I'm sure they will keep this standard of resources given to solve a murder for all future killings. Bad time to be a criminal in NYC going forward with this type of manhunt being the norm. Safer days ahead!

I'm way more fit than most, and I wish my physique were that modest.

Modest indeed.

LoL definitely has a selfie taken 25 years ago as his profile pic on the Bodybuilding.com forum. He likely also sleeps with a container of whey under his pillow in case of emergencies. Guys like him are just as weird as any overzealous nutjob from other niche hobbies.
