British Politics

Been on holiday for a few weeks, surprised to find no general discussion of British politics so though I'd kick one off.

Certainly isn't. You need to grow up

Please enlighten me as to the benefit of wasting your spare time making thousands of posts, some of which are racist, arguing anonymously with strangers on an obscure corner of the internet about something happening thousands of miles away.

You'd have to be a real dimwitted fukker not to take an interest in a genocide happening somewhere, especially if the genociders are influential in US and UK politics.

Exactly what Farage will want to see. When he attains power he can ensure judges are politically acceptable to him a la Trump and it's goodbye to any dissent.

Wow, that's a switch. Surely you can demand a jury for anything serious though?

They're changing it "due to the backlog of cases" apparently. So, no you can't except for those exceptions cited.

According to the leaked MoJ memo, offences punishable by up to 5 years in jail would be decided by a judge alone. That should finally put the last of the uppity journalists in their place.

and yet you don't give a toss about Ukraine.

Not explaining yet again to you the difference between a war between two armed sides and a one sided extermination of women and children.

According to the crazy proposal, you would be denied that right, for the first time in centuries, if the possible sentence is less than five years. It is, obviously, a terrible and stupid idea.

We have to hope this is one of those “news management “ type leaks designed to prepare us for much less odious changes.

yeah, feels like a bit of balloon politics. But then, most UK is that now.

Yikes. Then again, all the data indicates that (non white) jurors just rule in favor of co-ethnics anyways; so I guess it doesn't matter if it is juries or judges sticking it to the white man.

I will say, given the dysfunctions of Britain and its descent into Lebanon style sectarianism, and all the other options in the Anglosphere to live, I am surprised the brain and money drain flight isn't more than it is.

a one sided extermination of women and children.

Yeah Putin is doing this daily if you hadn't noticed, but then he isn't Jewish and moreover he is doing it to a country led by a Jew, so whatever.

Please take your apples and pears stall to the appropriate market where you may find more custom.

Kelhus99, banned for racism, has taken one look at some of Elracist's posts and thought "Mmm, this looks like the thread for me".

You do know that, in the United States, about 95% of criminal cases are resolved by plea bargain without trial, right?

The United States has the same problem with race communist judges; although minorities here are generally less tribal, integrate better and embrace meritocracy over tribalism. We also have a Bill of Rights (for now), so judges have less discretion to enact a 2 tier system of justice.

Britain is generally such a poor country, it really is insane how committed it is to taking away all opportunity and bleeding the populace dry to support their own ethnic cleansing.

But like I said, for good or bad there is an Anglosphere and it isn't too hard to leave for places where there is still opportunity and (more) fair laws.

Criminal cases in Ireland are usually with a jury, but we also have the special criminal court for organised crime and terrorism, which doesn't have a jury and consists of three judges.

Your Party is experiencing predictable launchpad problems, with Sultana now boycotting the first day of the founding conference in protest at SWP entryists being ejected (even though every political party bans members of other parties for screamingly obvious reasons).

It's not going to get any better and the target electorate of Tarquins and Corianders are just going to vote Green instead.

I heard it described as a party with 6 members and 4 factions.

When the Telegraph describes Brexit in such uncompromising terms, it's all over

2,000 words on

Brexit has cut UK GDP by up to 8%
Investment down 18%
Productivity down 4%
Employment down 4%
No trade benefits
No regulatory freedom
No immigration control
No growth

What happened to "Brexit opportunities "?

Some people made a financial killing from it, so it's not like they didn't exist for multi-millionaires.

It does have a lot more members and factions than that, especially since they voted to allow members of a number of other Communist parties to join, though I think not Sultana's SWP favourites, who are just too much trouble. However, they've now voted to have no leaders, which means everything will be cooked up in secret by a not entirely official clique and nobody will be answerable. Meanwhile Sultana has used her conference speech (having conveniently ended her brief boycott of proceedings) to attack unnamed Your Party leaders for... well, this and that. She is also, under the influence of her new SWP best friends, calling for the total nationalisation of food production. I don't think I need to say how whoppingly mad and stupid that is, and Jeremy may be a bit anxious about his precious allotment getting nationalised, on account of him being a kulak. At this stage he could be excused for not having any idea what's going on, although, as a veteran far-leftist, he ought to recognise that this kind of chaotic lunacy is normal in those circles.
