British Politics
Been on holiday for a few weeks, surprised to find no general discussion of British politics so though I'd kick one off.
It's just nice to see someone say it out loud it might catch on one day
It's up to us to make sure it's us. We can get there if we can't be won over with empty words. Polices and a plan to execute at least some of it when they ask for out vote needs to return to politics.
Give up on giving up.
and you never know if things go bad enough for starmer in the upcoming elections then he might get so desperate to survive that he resorts to doing something.
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has issued this statement about the decision not to postpone local elections in 30 areas. A spokesperson said:
Following legal advice, the government has withdrawn its original decision to postpone 30 local elections in May.
Providing certainty to councils about their local elections is now the most crucial thing and all local elections will now go ahead in May 2026.
Make up your mind, Matt: are the young men you've known for years racists, antisemites, and "the real far right" all of a sudden?
You’re against us *publicly*, but *privately* you agree with everything the lads leading Restore Britain say.
Because you've appeared on our podcasts, had dinner with us, had us write for your Substack, and sought our advice on how to write your social media posts for you.

I think the US should offer asylum to white Britons on the basis of racial discrimination. Seems like it would be a win-win. The people that would sign up for such a program you all would consider white racist losers anyways, so good riddance to bad rubbish.
And the US would gain people that would actually appreciate coming here. Unlike most of the recent immigrants we have been getting, who seem to have nothing but contempt for this nation.
Of course we have our own problems with racial discrimination against whites in many legacy white collar institutions. But we also have a lot of opportunities for entrepreneurial minded people to avoid these type of industries and jobs, that Briton just doesn't have.
i have no problem with people choosing to leave. No-one is stopping them and they are free to. Help yourself mate.
Except for the rich ****ers who want to avoid tax while still owning a lot here and still being heavily involved in our politics. They can still leave of course but we need to tax them properly on their assets/earning and prevent them funding their political friends.

Well, it seems all the rich British people are fleeing to places like Dubai or Monaco. I am guessing there are laws in place making it impractical to move to the US to dodge paying taxes.
That's the first true thing you've written itt for a long time.
His ndrew thingymess arrested
Custodial sentence if charged and found guilty, though it could be hard to prove and how much will is there unless he’s sacrificed in order to save others named in the Epstein files?
The nonce finally got his collar felt.

I'll be surprised if he gets a custodial sentence although Charles' remarks have been surprising but if he does maybe he'll spill the beans in an attempt to save his own skin hopefully
I’d be shocked. Also, how bad is it that all they care about is state secrets being traded for sex a la Profumo when he hosted child traffickers in royal residences and possibly raped girls there too?
If he's charged (and the ongoing searches suggest they do not have enough for charges yet), it'll be for the common-law offence of misconduct in public office (MiPO) and not under the new Public Office (Accountability) Bill, which has not yet reached third reading. MiPO is defined by case law. There's no minimum sentence, but the maximum is life.
Not long ago a policeman who took bribes, for supplying a solicitor with details of people injured in road traffic accidents, got six years. Some people have suggested Andrew might claim exemption because his trade-envoy role was unpaid, but case law has established that remuneration is not a factor. If the job involved public interest and public trust, he might be liable.
Starmer finally growing a pair and telling Trump he can’t use UK mainland air bases as a launch pad for strikes on Iran.
Same thing happened under Obama, who called off the whole plan as a result. It affects Fairford, Akrotiri and Diego Garcia. Without those bases, US long-range bomber and tanker operations get complicated.

Radio station over my way announced it and then immediately followed it with RadioHead's Creep. 😆
Of course, Andrew Mountbatten's father was "highly influential" in certain circles, which is another reason the rapist felt above the law and another indication that this will all probably come to nothing.
Lol he'd remind you of Bez from Happy Mondays in that pic
He clearly can't believe this is happening. It's like his whole family secretly despised him because he was his mummy's over-indulged favourite and now she's gone they want him buried (hopefully).
Even while the Queen was alive, he got told to stop hosting Maxwell and chums at the Palace. That was from the Master of the Household, but with agreement from Charles and the others.
