I have an intellectual softspot for syndicalism and Bakunin's ideas of anarchistic socialism.
In part because he was opposed to Marxism (which the Marxists responded to in their usual way of making sure Bakunin and his ideals were banned from the International). In part because he opposed the "dictatorship of the Proletariat", maintaining that such a transitional government would invariably become tyrannical. A prediction which has been proven correct each and every time Marxism has been attempted.
Perhaps more important for a contemporary discussion, is Bakunin's opposition to rule by experts / technocrats. As we see technocrats' early attempts at government fumble, I suspect this is a viewpoint that will be proven very hard to ignore over the next four to five decades.
All this said, I am not anarchy-syndicalist to any meaningful degree, but I like that it doesn't waver from the principle of liberty. Self-governance is also becoming an increasingly forgotten principle across the democratic world with both modern day conservatism and progressivism rejecting it, both intent on bogging us down with a never-ending cascade of norms, regulation, law, incessant complaining and sanctions for their opposition.

I suspect Chillrob will say execution is less cruel, which is why in his mind heinous acts should be punishable by life imprisonment.
I thought he said he wanted the heinous criminals executed too.
There's the rub. Surely he wants one group executed and the other given life imprisonment.
I believe he wants 6-year-olds (and dogs) who hurt people executed. Everyone else gets life in prison. I'm sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong.

IMO life institutionalization for a child / severely mentally disabled / truly insane person would be far more cruel than execution.
