Channel 12 news reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump were shown an image of the body of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, after it was recovered by Iranian authorities from his compound in Tehran.
Israel carried out a massive strike on Khamenei’s compound in the opening salvo of attacks on Iran this morning.
Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter updated American officials that Israel had succeeded in killing Khamenei, a source familiar with the matter tells The Times of Israel, confirming reporting in the Axios news site.

L’ILE LONGUE, France (AP) — French President Emmanuel Macron announced Monday that France will increase its nuclear arsenal and, for the first time, allow the temporary deployment of its nuclear-armed aircraft to allied countries, in a new strategy aimed at strengthening Europe’s independence.
Russia has fallen into a weekly habit of tossing a dart at the map and threaten to nuke whichever European country it lands on because it committed the grievous sin of not being Russian (yet). So this was a fairly predictable outcome.
Interesting times.
Nah it's just moving resources. Russia isn't the old USSR and China isn't the old China. Europeans can deal with Russia and the US is in the best position to deal with China.
If you ask involved politicians, officers or diplomats if NATO is over, the vast majority would say no.
If you asked them what the response would be if the treaty was actually tested, I suspect the answer would be well-worded and diplomatic, but roughly translate to "I have no clue, but let us not find out".

The unfolding chaos in Iran pushed the most important story in American democracy to page two. I’m referring to the drama between the DoD and artificial intelligence giants Anthropic and OpenAI. It revealed the bravery of one man—Anthropic’s Dario Amodei—and the cravenness of another—Sam Altman of OpenAI.
Anthropic lost its $200 million contract with the Pentagon because its CEO, Dario Amodei, insisted upon responsible limits on military and intelligence applications of AI. More importantly, Anthropic became the first American firm to be labeled a “supply chain risk,” meaning no company doing business with the US military can do business with Anthropic. Just as quickly as the government blacklisted Anthropic, OpenAI’s Sam Altman turned over his technology without real guardrails.
This AI saga is more significant than the situation in the Middle East because it impacts not only the conflict in Iran, but every future action taken by this administration and its successors. It’s almost impossible to overstate the impact that AI will have in the years to come.
Here’s what happened:
In negotiations with the Department of Defense, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei laid out two conditions for using his firm’s tech: no mass surveillance of Americans; no fully autonomous weapons.
I have been an AI enthusiast for decades. Thanks to Deep Blue, I became the first white collar professional to have his job threatened by AI! It didn’t take me long to realize that the future is in cooperation between man and machine, leveraging humanity’s creativity and ingenuity and technology’s brute force capabilities and pattern recognition. AI will accelerate innovation and is essential to America’s national defense.

When a country's populace that is attacking you is repeating this stuff, how are you supposed to take it?
The guys yelling Allah Akbar while they attack we interpret to mean their religion is a driving motivation for them.
Americans have their slogans and also chaplains as commissioned officers to give talks to troops before going on missions. Would be pretty easy to twist that stuff into something similar to the"Islamists"
