3 months is solid. Sometimes the small incremental improvments when you stop go unnoticed and you dont fully realize how much better things really are until you fall back in the cycle. Drinking will always appear better in the rear view mirror than in practice. Which is why it can be so hard to quit. But the +ev and the risk reward definitetly isnt there.

I have Victor on ignore, only read the IP thread sporadically and even I have seen this behavior multiple times. In addition to Baby Murderer, the term Nazi is readily thrown around as is the accusation that Jews use dogs to rape Palestinians. The only thing that has changed with new moderation is that the new mod has directed these posters (Vic, PW, Jeff) to use the slurs against “the Israel Goverment” and or the “IDF”. It’s a lame dog whistle that isn’t fooling anyone, which is why Jews don’t feel comfortable posting in that thread and have mostly fled.

In actual fact it was when Victor was banned for a month. Micro said he'd stop posting then and hasn't been back.

Looks like he posted on July 9th in another forum one time but this was his last post here.

That thread is largely terrible for the average person's emotional well being. And that's because it's overflowing with toxic polarization.

It's not a place to discuss ideas, facts, and nuances. It's largely a place to blame, virtue signal, troll, and hurt. And people who have no interest in that, have either left, or barely post. Doesn't have to be more complicated than that.

I think that everyone who is unhappy with the service they are receiving here should get a a full refund of what they paid for it.

I may not be a smart, sensible person, and I can't speak for micro, but what you wrote above is a good summary of why I have barely participated at all in the I/P thread or the Russia/Ukraine thread. I generally avoid commenting extensively in threads about military conflicts because credible information is hard to find in real time, and a lot of posters simply don't care whether they are relying on credible information.

I also don't know enough about military strategy to comment on what this, that, or the other development or tactic in Ukraine means for the conflict as a whole.

There is extensive credible information from both the Israelis and the Gazans that is readily and easily available. It's probably the most well documented "war" and "plausible genocide" of all time.

He deleted that comment not long after I called him out, but what was said was said.

I can't think of any sane reason to ever look at that thread.

I hope that a thread documenting and debating a possible genocide is terrible for people’s well being. It is death for Palestinians. We should all feel terrible regardless of which side you stand on

It’s ridiculous the reasons some posters are being banned. Due to the special nature of Israel , I don’t think it’s appropriate to hold the pro Israel side to a high standard. I think they should be given the benefit of a doubt when they say words that other people don’t like

With regard to Victor, calling the forces killing lots of civilians “baby killers” is a term that has been used at least since the Vietnam war. Anytime militaries start killing thousands of civilians, people call them baby killers.

I do agree that it is not a place to discuss facts but it seems as if most of 2p2 is that way. When someone doesn’t like the facts , they will say those facts are false.

It is quite amusing to watch in real time, and it’s great to be able to quote people’s posts here, I mean it really allows you to show the facts, and have them be indisputable.
