Eugenics was an early-20th-century elitist movement based on the fear that the lower orders were outbreeding their betters. (The US, originating as a plantation society, was as usual different, and Germany also became horribly different, but in most of Europe at that time 'race' meant what we would now mean by 'class'.) Eugenicism was strongly related to the birth-control movement, which turned out to be a good thing, relieving ordinary women of perpetual fear of pregnancy, even though the movement's founders (see Marie Stopes in the UK and Margaret Sanger in the US) were at least partly motivated by eugenicist ideas.
I know. Hitler used it and many others.
It has however been banned for being super racist.
I like the theory that "eu" in "eugenics" means "Europe". Some A+ etymology there washoe.

Which subjects would you like to talk about but feel unable to because of moderation, site rules, the law etc?

I remember back when we couldn't question the seriousness of covid or the efficacy of the vaccines and posts doing so were met with warnings and bans. So we shouldn't pretend like 2p2 is some bastion of free and open discussion. The very serious people could come back at any time.
