Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
Level of imminent threat
Do you feel like this has been happening in threads the last couple of months?
My perception is that its generally been fine but I'm open to hear differently
Imo it's been cool and while Karl definitely breached t&c I do hope his hiatus is brief. He's kinda bizarrely endearing to me.
The Bible also says that if your eye causes you to sin you should pluck it out and cast it away. Yet somehow there is not an epidemic of one-eyed men even though we know what you creeps are doing with themβ¦
Doing something with a one eyed something anyway badum-tish!! I'm here all week take my wife please!!
If practicing Christianity according to to teachings of Christ in the Bible were required to be counted as Christian, maybe one in a million of those who claim to be Christian would actually qualify. Possibly even fewer.
The teachings of Christ are not at all clear. Do you need to keep Jewish dietary laws to be a follower of Christ? Nobody knows. His direct quotes are seemingly contradictory; I come to fulfill the law not abolish it but also the sabbath was made for man not man for the sabbath. Peter an actual apostle and Jesus' brother an early church leader seemed to think so. Paul who wrote multiple books in the bible and gives the only eye witness account of seeing Jesus after he died says no.
plus.... abuse only goes one way, doncha kno?

The law / socialization is a means and not an end.
Yes, Jesus wanted his followers to socialize themselves in the law, but he also wanted them to transcend the social self.
The faith path is a growth path, not simple rule following.
craig feels like a cult leader who is inept at attracting followers.

Paul mostly agrees with you. But also according to Paul, Peter and James disagree.
Like I said before, it only matters who laughs last.
You act like an inept truth teller with no wisdom.
First they laugh at you
Then they ignore you
then they laugh at you
then they indulge in the most embarrassing theology

meanwhile good had created RGT

Politics divorced from philosophical and spiritual wisdom is inherently corrupt.
Still, I post plenty of content using strictly political / secular language in this subforum.
I agree but imo it's a very bad place for theology. Even if so mcuh of it wasn't infantile
Personally I did my time in SMP. Then we created RGT. It's there if people want it.
I mean, that might work for us with the tits, not so much for them with the dicks. What the **** you gonna check out exactly? Fly configuration?
It's not conscious, it's just a thing women do. They then look at the man's shoes, apparently due to an inner conviction that smart shoes are an important status indicator.
Lou Reed said that a quite weird number of women pestered him for an introduction to his friend Ernie after the Transformer album came out, because of Ernie's photo on the back of the sleeve. He had to tell them that Ernie just put a banana down his jeans for the shoot.
Most people donβt want it (spirituality or philosophy), but they need it.
People who are 100% politics are puppets to their bio-social bias and primarily engage in tribalistic mudslinging. There is no progress happening under these conditions.
If this subforum is about discharging your political energy on your opponents for short term relief, and not about actually solving problems, then let that be stated.
Old Scots joke. The damned, on the Day of Judgement, looking up to Heaven:- 'Oh Lord, we didnae ken!' God, looking down on Hell: 'Well, ye ken noo!'
But that's a fairy tale. When you're dead you're dead and, contrary to what Buddhists think, since reincarnation doesn't exist, everyone who dies achieves Nirvana, that is, release from all the bother that goes with life. Although, being dead, they don't know that, obviously.
Nah Gerry Adams supported the peace process unlike them orange cu...oh wait you meant the mods my bad.
Oddly enough Adams is an 'orange name', being English Protestant. And McGuinness, of course, is Scots Protestant. Just shows there's a long history of intermarriage in NI, with Catholic wives insisting the children were brought up as Catholic, so people on the 'green' side often have 'orange' surnames.
