I don't think that I could generalize about whether I prefer male or female novelists, artists, etc. But if we are talking about punk, punk-adjacent, or new wave music, I much prefer female vocalists.

Is it reasonable to choose a specialist that you don't like but your insurance will cover in network when you can't afford a different one?

Choosing a financial advisor could come down to a LOT of factors: 1) you want the best (you don't have to like them), 2) you want what you can afford (you don't have to like them), 3) you want one in your area (you don't have to like them), 4) your wife chose them (you don't have to like them), 5) someone you know personally (you don't have to like them).
NONE of them require you to LIKE the financial advisor. I don't understand why you don't understand that.
