Its probably common within some friend groups but the variance will be wild from guys who jack of in front of each other to guys who aren't sure if their friend is still a virgin

For the record I'm in your camp on this one. I don't say anything to my male friends I wouldn't say in front of my wife. My male friends are the same way. It just comes down to the type of company you choose to keep I guess.

There's zero chance masturbation would ever come up with my male friends. I personally find it bizarre that someone would want to talk about that with anyone other than their partner, and I'm probably not going to continue to choose to hang around with people that would just bring that up, honestly. It seems way out of bounds for a normal non-sexual relationship. I admit maybe I have conservative boundaries for this but I grew up in Alberta so do whatever you want with that.

Do you know what "very differently" means? I never said that without exception I behave identically all the ****ing time around men and women (or that anyone else does). I almost never say anything that absolute.

Among my social group, it could come up in a mostly joking way depending on who I was hanging out with. But that's pretty much true even if my wife is in the room.

But a serious discussion with male friends? Very unlikely.

I honestly don’t talk sexually around either men or women. It’s just not of interest to me. It’s usually a very boring conversation topic, so doesn’t come up.

I have a friend whose gf mandated he didn't watch porn. We had group discussions about that for a while.

And fertility numbers show that.

In a functional society high quality women get several suitors per month that can provide for them for the rest of their life and are willing to commit to that (in a legally binding way), so that they already all have children before 30 having chosen the best suitor out of 50/100 that presented himself when she was 22-25. That's real life for millennia.

These days even a top 5% woman can't find a top 5% income man willing to commit financially for life that easily.

That means the woman has to get a career (otherwise she risks financial ruin down the line) which delays everything horribly which means she doesn't have kids at 35 too often which means that she is then competing sexually with the perfect 23y old so the 39-42y old who didn't commit yet doesn't commit anyway so not even high quality people have children enough.

The fertility numbers show a lot of things but I doubt that lack of selection is one of them

Lack of male commitment is a major cause.

And it lacks because if you are alpha, the market has never been so full of goods you can easily pick up, easier than ever before. Why commit if you get all the positives from a relationship without the negatives o easily these days?

If you are beta, you know the system is set up to slaughter you at a moment notice when she gets bored (or finally finds an alpha while you are paying the bills).

I pretty much refuse to engage in any sort of alpha/beta discussion. Its not something that has ever crossed my mind in any scenario outside of "I should take the lead here"

There is nothing special with the alpha/beta discussion.

It's what you eagerly engage in when it's about income/wealth.

Some policies, some societal arrangements, benefit people at some point of the income/wealth redistribution and that has societal effects of various kinds.

The same is true for mating quality and societal (and legal) arrangements around relationships.

Unclear why you fully understand it for income but not for mating quality.

As if quantifying a person quality as a mate in some way stripped him of his dignity.
