The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa

It doesn't seem too hard to participate in forum discussions. You just have to understand that the partisans aren't meant to be taken seriously and they never were, and that you shouldn't take too much of it seriously yourself. I've been guilty of both mistakes in the past but there isn't a reason why reasonable people still shouldn't be able to have a good time here.

I saw a post memorializing the harlem shake challenge from 2013 and it legitimately feels like that was a different world.

Not sure how you heal a toxicity engrained over a decade. We really have a massive chunk of the country who has philosophically put it all on the line in the name of Trump

We should have a thread every year on Obama tan suit and birth certificate imo

As for Luciom the official mod group stance is that he would have been permabanned years ago if he regularly posted on any other sub forum

Why exactly is this subforum not subject to the same basic rules that every other subforum is? If this is just the designated **** poster containment thread (fair), can we please get a separate politics forum for adults who actually want to discuss politics and are fine with the usual site-wide rules?

Don't you think Rococo and Tame Deuces would get bored with each other eventually?

Yes

and that was supposedly the motivation behind starting UP

P&S started (and continues) as the dumping ground on 2+2..... to keep politics out of ALL the other subforums. All the moderators were encouraged to delete posts.... or move them to P&S... as they saw fit.

Can we make the golf subforum the dumping ground instead? The chess subforum? It sucks for those of us interested in politics that you guys just picked this place to be the Nazi shithole forum without consulting the community first.

He would be measurably less annoying if he didn’t insist on replying to every single post in every single thread. Especially when he doesn’t really have anything pertinent to say, but can’t help from hammering out a few paragraphs of noise anyway.

by Trolly McTrollson m

Can we make the.....

or, just maybe..... have everyone stop replying to poster X.

Sometimes I worry that leaving his nonsense unchecked is seen as waiving the white flag

Not that I should be worried about lurkers on 2p2 becoming radicalized by Luciom

You do like one substantive post a month, calm down lil bro

by King Spew m

or, just maybe..... have everyone stop replying to poster X.

But that isn't how any other subforum here works, as you know.

Again, why make politics the designated dumping ground instead of OOT or some other subfoum? Seems like a reasonable question.

OOT is the dumping ground for non political posters

Trolleycar, the decision to make P&S the dumping ground is so long ago and sooooooo ingrained throughout all 2+2 that to TRY to initiate change would be lol.

And ,,,, mostly theory.... it is the dumping ground for all things political and nothing else. So, seems like the arrow hit the target.

I don't think it's actually that hard at all to set up an adults-only politics subforum, but I get that what you're really saying here is the mods aren't willing to do it. So okay, fair enough, I guess.

adults only...... lol

Sounds like you want the smallest little circle jerk environment. Just who would be the adults only crowd?

But then where would you go?

You said the quiet part aloud.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you have your own forum where anyone who doesnt fully support the Democrats and permanent war is banned. I just checked and it looks like it gets a lot of traffic! why dont you just post there?

by coordi m

Yes

and that was supposedly the motivation behind starting UP

And the irony is that the poster you're replying to has been on UP since day one and on a splinter forum, Slow Pony Effluence, where he can post with only like minded posters, yet despite having SAFE SPACES for him to post to his heart's content he's nevertheless always demanding more posters be banned from here too so the "adults" can "enjoy" his childish trolls.

That sounds eerily like the bluesky crowd

I'd like a politics forum that has the same rules that apply to every other subforum on 2p2. I don't get why that's so unreasonable, or why you don't feel comfortable having a good-faith discussion about it.

So I remember yesterday king spew saying race science discussions are taboo, per the site owners, and I thought that was that.

But I see instead the discussion has continued for the last day, with king spew monitoring, and threatening a poster with moderation action that disagrees with his opinions on the matter.

So it seems that what king spew was actually saying is that race science discussions are fine, as long as he agrees with your viewpoint. And only dissenting views are censored.

Did I get that right?
