The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
"I don't know enough to form an opinion, but I know more than enough to offer an opinion" should be the tagline for this entire forum.
I’ve seen some sketch things regarding this. I haven’t done a deep dive to know what is legit. Regarding Sandyhook I haven’t formed an opinion. All I know is there was a mass shooting and some conspiracy theories around it.

So no conversion rate for Americans to Iranians? Can we kill 10,000,000 Iranians to save a grandma with cancer from being shot a month before she dies from cancer?
"I'm just sayin..."

Oh is sketchy a factual statement or a statement of opinion?
By the way, having no opinion on something can be epistemically vicious if the thing that you have no opinion on is something that you should have high priors in favor of believing it happened. For instance, if you have “no opinion” on whether the holocaust happened as people say it did, people would rightfully lower their opinion of you, because you should have high priors in the holocaust indeed resulting in the genocide of approximately 6 million jews by Nazi extermination tactics. Having “no opinion” on that is just weird.
Oh, I'll admit there is some heavy nostalgia here. It might have been one of my earliest memories of playing video games - just the challenge of walking the steps and avoiding the water was task in itself at that age.
I knew that if I journeyed west, I would get destroyed and if I headed east things would be a little more manageable. It felt like the most massive open world on the NES and I would travel for what felt like for miles, maybe traverse a little south until I reached another town in which I could talk with dozens of NPCs or reach a castle. After 100s of hours of play, I convinced my mom to call the Japanese hotline at .99 cents a minute when I got stuck and was pleased to learn that I just needed to crouch for 5 seconds next to a wall for a tornado to lift me up to carry me to another part of the world.
When I was about 6, I was super stoked to pick up Castlevania 3 just to realize that I was playing a linear Mario style game with a timer and quickly lost all interest.
...Also, the music was some of the best in gaming history and working a little every day to get down Bloody Tears on the piano - which is extremely difficult. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=El2ORRCX...

The Holocaust is massive historical common knowledge. I’ve known about it since I was a kid. I learned about it in school. I’ve seen many documentaries. It happened over the course of many years.
Sandy hook was a one time event. It was a big story but not one I paid close attention to. I didn’t even know there was controversy until Alex Jones was sued.
You try to hard to make non issues become a thing.
That’s your defense of your position?
lol. lmao, even.
you guys are trying too hard. mongo is obv right here. imagine comparing the notoriety of the Holocaust to Sandy Hook.
quite frankly, i imagine luckbox is probably one of the more chill and nicer guys in this forum
the irony is that most people here ragging on him would sooner rather go on a two day road trip with him than most of the people they ally up against him with

Please show me where I said that Sandy Hook is as notorious as the holocaust. I said that having “no opinion” on something can be epistemically vicious, so just saying “no opinion” is not a defense. Especially since most people without an opinion wouldn’t comment.
Not that I expect good faith from you two ******s.

I’m sure there are nazis that are nice and chill too. Hitler had a lovely relationship with his dog.
I think people who posture as chill on internet forums while pushing scum**** opinions tend to be absolute pieces of crap in real life.

I dont think that having no opinion on something that you havent been exposed to, or studied is "epistemically vicious". when I learned American history, the genocide of the natives was glossed over and whitewashed. I would not fault most people for not realizing the magnitude of the crimes that went into creating this country. otoh, curiously, the Holocaust is taught repeatedly and it was drilled into our heads how uniquely bad it was.

How many people do you know who post as chill on the internet and are “absolute pieces of crap in real life”?
Fwiw I'm sure some people didn't like that I had my dog running around but I had permission from the bride and it was at her parents property. And if they didn't like it then **** them I don't really care
.
Putting kids at risk because “you don’t really care if they don’t like it.” You’re an idiot and a piece of trash. You must get your ass beat often.
I had no idea there were so many grumpy dog haters in this thread who just assume that any dog without a leash on it is positively slavering at the mouth at the thought of finally getting its opportunity to wreak havoc and bite a bunch of unsuspecting children, unleashing its chaos on weddings and the world!
Because when I was a kid (you know, back in 1890 or so...) our dogs were pretty much never leashed at family gatherings and all of us kids were encouraged to interact with them at every opportunity. Our female Siberian husky (who had had a litter of puppies of her own and looked a LOT like luckbox's Bella) was my first babysitter and became so distressed any time my mother failed to immediately get out of bed to answer me when I cried that my parents twice found her wedged up against the slats of my crib trying to nurse me herself.
Because well loved dogs think of humans as their pack and are protective of and kind to kids. WTF kind of hell hounds and devil dogs did all of YOU grow up with?
I agree with you. I want people to be safe and I want the dog to be safe. Everyone (including the precious pooch) wins if the canine sweetheart lays down on a comfy pillow in a corner of the room.
Because we live in a world where we have to coexist with animals and can’t just snap our fingers and put rattlesnakes, deer, and bears into a comfy corner as we please. Yes, we can
And statistically, the dog is less likely to bite someone than than someone is to spike Cousin Janine's drink, but we for some reason don't require fraternity boys to be leashed at parties.
Huh. I wonder why not.

Sorry your family has a problem with date raping each other.

I see you’re just triggered about the holocaust and not actually tracking. Sorry not enough Jews were killed for your liking vic.
My point is that between a random unknown dog and a random unknown man, I'm approaching the dog every time, sir.
