Do you think Russia is amendable to a reasonable ceasefire agreement that would be worth Ukraine making a "calculated gamble" on. What would such an agreement look like in your eyes?

I think that's the problem though. So far part of Russia's demands in negotiation is leaving a neutered Ukraine that is not able to "invade" in the future. Because Russia needs assurances for it's security.
The biggest NATO opponents to Ukraine joining are now USA and Germany. There's pretty much no chance that Ukraine can join anytime soon. Meanwhile no one knows what Ukraine's bilateral military agreements will amount to, and Ukraine has been screwed on similar things multiple times already.
Military production for the war took way too long to start up (which is largely why 2024 is going so poorly for Ukraine as was predicted over a year ago), so Ukraine has every reason to believe that if the war stopped that European military production might stop as well. And even if Europe doesn't slow down their military production, it's not guaranteed that those arms keep going to Ukraine if there's not a war happening. Ukraine was extremely corrupt before the war, and will likely be extremely corrupt after the war. Western Europe doesn't want to send arms to a country with this kind of corruption problems.

Ukraine could outproduce Russia without the Us with just a couple European allies putting in some effort. but obv the Us would give them weapons lets be honest. the military industrial complex is salivating over the idea of arming Ukraine for the next couple of decades

I used to follow these closely, but there were too many. Late 2023 there were 20 murder cases from pardoned Wagnerites.
Can't recall any verified instances of them going back to the front afterwards though. This guy could set a record if he survives his second tour and murders again.
