Knowing what you know
This may be a dumb thread idea, but I'm going to give it a try. I would be curious to know what topics (related to P&S) posters believe they have relative expertise in and what topics posters believe they do not have relative expertise in:
Here are the areas where I believe that I have the most to offer:
1) U.S. law, especially civil law
2) 2007-2008 financial crisis
3) Comparative political theory
4) Strategic campaign politics (i.e., analyzing why politicians do what they do and why they believe it will benefit them at the polls)
5) The intersection between technology and domestic U.S. politics.
And here are the areas where I believe I have the least to offer:
1) Military strategy
2) International diplomacy
3) Domestic politics in countries other than the U.S.
4) Optimal solutions for huge policy questions such as how to control the spiraling cost of health care and education or what to do about the environment. I obviously can think about these issues from a moral standpoint, but the nuances of optimal policy are well beyond my expertise.
5) Local politics outside of NYC
FWIW, I think this will be more interesting if people don't the thread as an opportunity to mock other posters for the areas in which they believe that have relative expertise.
I surely hope someone is keeping on ongoing spread sheet of all the expertise in this thread... because I am not an expert on how to do it.
least this thread becomes completely useless.
Newsflash. There is no actual real news, just defence PR expert shopping bullshit that won't get anywhere, cuz they've no new evidence, which is what's required to get somewhere, despite them saying said they've new evidence, but it's really just alternate theories on the already existing evidence, some, if not all, which were examined by the court anyway.
Gonna take years to even get a potential hearing for an appeal, which will most likely be denied, due to there being no new evidence.
In the meantime, Loopy I mean Lucy Letby will continue to serve her 15 consecutive life without parole sentences, probably away from the other prisoners, so they don't have a game of Stab/scald/bludgeon/push Lucy down the prison stairs.
Anyway, this is a thread for posters to say how awesome they are at certain things, not to prove the guilt of a murderous baby murdering murderer of babies again, on teh internetz, to a sock account's satisfaction, after it was already proven bard in a very long and very thorough trial, so I reckon this is where we part ways, my alt accounted acquaintance. It's been fun.
Hey lucky Jay z and diddy messed with dmx
And diddy is going down and Jay z maybe too now
Surely diddy is as innocent as Lucy, no? 😀
Lol
and chaos ensues...
Just wish to add that I agree with Luckbox that dee equalizer is probably Washoe
Willkommen zurück, mein Freund 😀
I'm a dabbler in most fields as they relate to politics, I don't have much expertise in any of them. I know my way around history, geography and geopolitics enough to stop me from being stupid most of the time.
I was late into the game of professional career, so I had a good few years where I did a lot of varied stuff. While probably more formative than informative, you pick up a little here and there that at least makes you able to follow along when experts speak or write.
I am an expert in identifying the murderous nature of the West and the USA.
I was asking specifically about stuff that was relevant to the forum, but if people want to mention other stuff, I guess that's interesting as well.
I missed or misread that, but then again what subjects haven't been politicized by now? Even **** as innocuous as sneakers aren't really immune anymore.
I tend to be a little more on the modest side especially since I interact with some very accomplished people pretty frequently, but I can say with confidence I'm an objectively better-qualified pick for Secretary of Transportation than Trump's pick, so maybe I'm being too hard on myself.
tbh, it took me way too long so Im probably not that expert.
I'm no expert in politics but I am an expert in knowing who to respect when they post and who is full of **** nearly all of the time. Unfortunately, the former is only two or three people which includes the OP.
Pro tip - if you aren't ever able to admit when you're wrong, you're not worth listening to. Bonus, if you use derogatory nicknames for people you should not be taken seriously as you clearly aren't interested in listening to folks on the other side.

Rob what languages have you learned? Really curious about it.
Not many people study languages in the Anglosphere. So far I know about you and Luckbox.
There was a guy who said he'd taught English in Japan and had also studied Japanese; would love to hear from him.
I've studied Spanish, French, and Russian. Not really fluent in any of them, but years ago I took the foreign service language aptitude exam and scored very high. It was funny, there were questions about made up languages that you had to figure out.
Just C1 Russian/Russia, particularly late Soviet-modern Russian history.
