We understand you don’t like Ben Shapiro. You know who criticizes Ben Shapiro for not being racist enough? Fuentes.

The difference between Fuentes and Shapiro is that Fuentes attributes bad behavior to race and Shapiro attributes bad behavior to culture. Like it or not, that’s the difference between their two trajectories. And you can just look at Fuentes’s career to see why he was cancelled and other conservatives weren’t. It has nothing to do with bias against him. He just can’t help himself.

This is separate from whether I think youtube should unban him or not.

As a Catholic, how do you feel about the pope basically saying that Western Conservativism is completely antithetical to Catholic teachings and values?

I am not a deeply religious Catholic, but I certainly respect the position of the Pope.

We have had many popes throughout Catholic history, something important to keep in mind. And obviously, even the current pope agrees with some of the conservatives on their positions.

Btw I would not consider myself conservative. More interested in traditional democrat policies and politicians of the likes of JFK.

Worth noting Fuentes has contradicted himself on what he thinks about non-white people living in America. And again, I’m not sure if he is controlled opposition or a shock jock for example.

Well, Fuentes main criticism of Shapiro is that he is a dirty Jew rat traitor and should be deported to Israel.

Once you decide every American Jew is a traitor who needs to be deported, policy or ideological differences dont really matter too much. But maybe when he gets his own Fox News show like Knights seems to think he deserves, Fuentes himself can articulate this further.

No Shapiro has advocated for the ethnic cleansing of Palestine. That’s more than criticism of a culture…. So YouTube is hypocritical to allow Shapiro but not Fuentes. Whatever you think makes Fuentes worse. Well that’s not going to cut it. There’s countless comments that Shapiro has made about Muslims that are totally comparable to what Fuentes says about Jews.

No Fuentes criticizes Shapiro because he believes he is more loyal to Israel compared to America.

Wasn’t that from like 2006 at the height of the war on terror? And in any case, it was because of cultural differences, not because he thought they were an inherently evil race, which is what Fuentes thinks about Jews. He doesn’t see Jews as a mere religion, he views them as a racial group.

Furthermore, Fuentes was banned for things he said on the youtube platform if I’m not mistaken. That’s a different situation than ToS violations before he was on the platform.

I suspect you are referring to something Shapiro said a long time ago, are not being honest about what he actually said, and he has said nothing along these lines in years if not decades. As opposed to Fuentes who blatantly and clearly breaks Youtube terms every single show he does.

It is beyond insane. And this is precisely what Tucker Carlson, Glenn Greenwald and plenty of others have brought up. For example, take someone like Megyn Kelly who is one of the biggest supporters of Israel historically. She recently came out against some decisions that the Netanyahu administration has made. She also talked about how she was offered to take a paid for trip to Israel recently and she turned it down …wasn’t interested in it.

Without fail The fanatical supporters of Netanyahu start calling her anti-Semitic.

Btw how many times do people say well Saudi Arabia was connected to 911. Almost nobody looks at that and says oh damn person must hate all Muslims. And with regards to connections of Israel to 9/11. There’s a lot of nuance there as some people are saying well The Israeli government wasn’t directly responsible for 911 but may have not given the US Intel that might have helped prevent it. Or that perhaps rogue officials in the Israeli government had information on 9/11 they did not give up. And there are more theories surrounding the Mossad or Israeli officials and 911 and they could be wrong, but the bottom line is to look at the out right hypocrisy and stupidity of people who support Israel’s war in Gaza…. and then when they look at somebody who says or questions possible connections of Israeli Intel to 911 they immediately lose their mind ie “you Antisemite!” Yet they are the same people Who wouldn’t bat an eye at somebody who said the Saudi government was connected to 911. … they would obviously never start whining and complaining about Islamophobia. And it is perfectly fine if you are done with me here. But I gave a lengthy answer the first time you posed the question about Islam. And you didn't acknowledge it at all which is fine. But I am not going to keep repeating myself.

Actually I am not particularly aware of Ben Shapiro's thoughts on every topic. I dont follow him at all. I probably haven't listened to him speak beyond random sound bytes since I listened to him on Joe Rogan's podcast years and years ago. And I dont recall them talking about Islam at all at that time.

I just looked this up, and it seems both of them (Fuentes and the host interviewing him) acknowledged it was something Shapiro wrote years ago when he was very young. So I was correct that whatever Shapiro wrote was long before his Youtube show, and you have provided no evidence since he has had the show he is blatantly breaking YouTube Terms and Service rules, as pretty much every one of Fuentes shows would.

And it seems the context of the discussion was they were comparing it to a hot mic moment where Fuentes was being secretly being recorded when he was very young and said something along the lines of interracial dating with blacks being morally wrong. And the person interviewing Fuentes basically gave his opinion Fuentes should not be judged on such comments now (years later) if he was willing to walk it back, which he halfway did.

I do find it amusing that as "evidence" that Fuentes should be platformed on US MSM you provided a hot mic discussion where he said whites dating blacks was morally wrong. Somehow I dont think that is going to win a lot of converts to your side.

Shapiro is just one example of a bigot who is allowed on YouTube. There’s countless other ones. Again Van Jones of CNN saying all white people have a virus and he is still on CNN. You could even talk about this guy called “the amazing Lucas” he has a channel on YouTube right now and he recently posted a meme mocking the killing of Charlie Kirk
