British Politics

Been on holiday for a few weeks, surprised to find no general discussion of British politics so though I'd kick one off.

Tory leadership contest is quickly turning into farce. Trump has backed Boris, which should be reason enough for anyone with half a brain to exclude him.

Of the other candidates Rory Stewart looks the best of the outsiders. Surprised to see Cleverly and Javid not further up the betting, but not sure the Tory membership are ready for a brown PM.

Regarding the LD leadership contest, Jo Swinson is miles ahead of any other candidate (and indeed any of the Tory lot). Should be a shoe in.

Finally, it's Groundhog Day in Labour - the more serious the anti-Semitism claims get, the more Corbyn's cronies write their own obituary by blaming it on outlandish conspiracy theories - this week, it's apparently the Jewish Embassy's fault...

Well I guess that the whole idea is that Muslim youth capable of organizing an attack somewhere should all be deported ASAP if they aren't citizens, wouldn't you agree?

Because even if the owner was a "far right rioter" they still would NOT be justified at all to do anything violent right? Right? And you want to deport all immigrants who are violent against citizens right?

Your citizens are your own problem as a country, immigrants can and should be kicked out at the first sign they are a problem for the country.

At least, unless immigration is ACTUALLY an attempt to replace the native population... Which we all know it isn't, right?

I don't know why you think Muslims wouldn't be citizens. Just a racist assumption. This is UK, not Italy.

This is the real problem:

According to the 2021 census, 49% of Muslims living in England & Wales weren't born in the UK

So what? They migrated legally and are now citizens ldo.

I don't see what UK citizenship has to do with you anyway - you're Italian. If you want to have a say in UK immigration policy you'll need to move here and become a citizen too so you can vote. Otherwise stop making stupid posts.

I'm sure the far right extremists will be all over this one, what with their overarching concern for children's welfare.

Meanwhile Elrazor is frantically trying to massage some stats on the number of Northern women who abuse children.

Immigration lawyers' home addresses posted online.

This is what fascism looks like.

Congratulations to everyone who has posted anything on social media or internet forums falsely equating immigration with undesirable outcomes.

An attempt by whom?

My point is that police should learn from this and IMMEDIATLY give all ethnicity/religious/sex/citizenship information about suspects of violent crimes in the future the moment they confirm it.

And media should clearly state the same in headlines when talking about those events, in the future. And stop hiding that information, when available, deep in the article when it's a minority suspect.

No, they shouldn't do that, because it's not legally relevant at that point and would be prejudicial. These matters tend to come out at trial, if the case goes to trial. And the identities of suspects under 18 are protected by Section 45 of the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999.

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/199...

Judge Menary KC declined, exceptionally, to impose a Section 45 order in this case because he was satisfied that the suspect was safe in youth detention, because the suspect turns 18 this week (tomorrow, actually) and because of false claims about the suspect put about on social media. Until the judge's ruling, nobody could say anything.

A 28-year-old man has been charged with posting content online intending to stir up racial hatred, in relation to this past week's violent disorder.

Jordan Parlour, of Seacroft in Leeds, is the first individual to face prosecution for posting allegedly criminal messages linked to the violence.

Nick Price, of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), said that it had authorised West Yorkshire Police to charge Parlour with u

More on the moron...

Parlour pleaded guilty at Leeds Magistrates’ Court today and was remanded in custody ahead of his sentence at Leeds Crown Court on Friday, 9 August.

Nick Price, Director of Legal Services at the Crown Prosecution Service, said: "I want to be absolutely clear, anyone involved in inciting this thuggish behaviour will face severe consequences.

"Parlour advocated violence through his online posts and risked the safety of those staying at the hotel.

"The CPS will continue to act swiftly and robustly regarding these cases and ensure those responsible for such deplorable criminality are brought to justice."

Jordan Parlour, [DOB: 06/10/1995], is of Seacroft, Leeds.
He pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour intending thereby to stir up racial hatred, or where having regard to all the circumstances, racial hatred is likely to be stirred up thereby, contrary to section 19(1) of the Public Order Act 1986.
He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on Friday, 9 August.

The DPP says that terrorism charges are being considered in at least one case. This presumably relates to encouraging terrorism contrary to Section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

An attempt by whom?

by the people who allow unfiltered immigration, block deportations of all immigrants the instant they become a nuisance to the country, and who decide not to police immigrants with the same severity they police natives (or a lot more, as it would be normal historically).

elected politicians and civil servants

Really? What church did he go to?

It seems all we know is his parents are immigrants from Kenya and he was almost 18. And the authorities have ruled out terrorism, which means extremely little, because authorities regularly rule out terrorism in attacks where the person was screaming "Allah Akbar". We know nothing about the suspect or his motives beyond that.

And now leftists are creating their own misinformation campaign that is convenient to their narrative of choice.

Really? You’re well up on current affairs and I’m surprised you don’t know that one of the most repeated memes shouted by the fash at anyone who looks like a Muslim is that they’re paedos, especially in the West Midlands where some Muslims were involved in high profile cases

No one “blocks deportations of all immigrants the instant they become a nuisance to the country” because only a small number of lunatics would even want this, contrary to your insinuation that it’s a popular policy demanded by the public and rejected by the conspiracy.

Try harder. C-

I didn't say it's a conspiracy, nor that it is undemocratic.

It might very well be the case than 58% or 64% or whatever of the population disapprove of the idea of deporting any immigrant when he commits a crime.

Still, everyone who thinks that is personally responsibile for any subsequent crime committed by the people he had a chance to deport after they had shown they were bad, horrible human beings (=criminals, of heinous, anti-social crimes), and acted in ways that didn't allow for them to be deported.

For some reasons jalfrezi thinks that the fact that white citizens commit crimes in some way exculpate immigrants who commit crimes.

We can't deport citizens, we can deport immigrants. If we could deport or otherwise permanently get rid of citizen criminals i would be very much in favor of doing that as well as i repeatedly stated in the past. I am in favor of the death penalty for all violent crimes , for all sexual crimes and so on.

And that is a very british tradition, the bloody code, coupled with deportation of citizen criminals to Australia and elsewhere, worked.

No, obviously I don't think that so stop lying.
