looks like we agree on port/straw but not yet on the duo from tick/comic/mail

I have no idea. I don’t quite get why a zero clue would mean to not guess tick, and I’m worried that comic hits figure better than the other remaining words. An unlimited clue would mean guess two and then the top two on the list, which we can’t do because telescope is bad. So we got a zero clue telling us telescope is bad. It doesn’t speak to tick.

Since we’ve only been clued 8 words, if tick isn’t ours, I think it’s way more important to give us a fighting chance by clueing every word. Probably the only time I’d deviate from that as spymaster would be if my team had the unclued word at the top of their list.

I still think we’re on Port/Straw/Tick. That would leave us with one more for 007 (unless missile was double-clued, which would be disastrous for us).

if tick isn't ours, he clues 4 for the 4 new words OR 0 if that's easier to clue for the four words

given cell/mass/microscope/telescope/tick all hit magnified, that's 5/9 words leaving 4 left

that seems easier clue than trying a 4 clue to hit comic/mail/port/straw

otherwise, why magnified? we weren't gonna guess telescope/microscope if he does 3 clue, so no need to 0 clue off of them

I think this is just straightforward cluing us for the four words that aren't magnified

I get your logic, I’ve just not seen DZ play it this way before. How does tick hit magnified? Because a tick is small? How does mass hit magnified?

yeah, you may use a magnifying glass to magnify and identify a tick
small mass needs to be magnified to be studied

they aren't great, but they hit it more than the other 4 so if 0 clue is to get us off 5 words and onto our 4, then I think those are out

I guess I just think he'd go man - 3 for port/straw/mail if tick is ours; it's straightforward and he knows we like n-1 and that not going 3 denies n-1

and telescope isn't ours based on magnified - 0, so he couldn't go unlimited

I'm just not sure what he wants us to do if 0 clue isn't denying tick and getting us off the magnified words

and I say that as someone who hates comic since he did 007 and not one of many comic book characters that also hit some of missile and capital and plot and thief...but here we are

I’m kinda done trying to figure it out. If we’re not guessing tick, then all we have left is mail/comic. I don’t like it at all, and am very concerned about comic being a figure word. But it’s only a game, and we’ve been delaying it long enough.

So mass/port/straw 3 clue was most straightforward way to go but no obvious clue there

A lot of words to get mass and port also hit mail since anything with containers or transport etc hits mail also
