SIDES - Inaugural Game Thread
In this thread, we will play a new word game called Sides. It's somewhat similar to codenames, but cooperative and different.

In this game, a target word will be randed as will a row of 7 cards that have letters on them (most 1 letter, some 2/3/4 letters).
2 people will be the guessers and everyone else will be able to give a clue.
The clue given must start with the letter on either the first or last card (the 'sides' of the row).
We discuss as a team who will give the clue with open discussion in the thread such as "I have a 7 letter word starting with a C"
Once there is some agreement on who gives the clue, that person will bold the clue they want to give in the thread.
The two guessers will then discuss in the thread and bold their guess. If it's correct, we move on to the next guessers and the next word. If wrong, then the clue givers post some info like "you are warm" or "you are about 30% there" etc to give directional info on how on track/off track their guess is.
Then they discuss and give another clue. But the person who bolded a clue cannot give another clue for the same word until everyone on the cluing side has clued a word (if we take that long to get the word), so one person can't hog the cluing.
Clues have to be one word, or an acronym, etc like in codenames; they can be hyphenated words
We can also give some info on how the clues relate to each other, or even say a clue is a 0 clue, so the opposite of what cluing for (e.g., clue 'colorful' as an opposite clue because the word is zebra)
I'll provide more details and examples in the thread in the morning, but this should be enough info for you to /in and join so we can play.

I think I figured out H9 but that won't get it in 1 right? Wanna just think a little and see if we can 1shot this, I haven't figured out S3
I want i4 to be helpful, it can go so many ways but I'd they think of it with our target it obv hits
Maybe a few more confirmers so they can deduce it
I'll be shocked if they don't get it with H9 + S3, i'll even go as far and say it's 100%
H9 won't get it in 1 for sure, i've no clue what I4 is though and can't really think of anything that'll get it in 1

i4 is a confirmer kinda like s3 but a different domain, and by itself could go in any direction
I def agree we'll get it in 2 turns, question is could we figure out how to do it in 1
There probably is a way we could get it in 1 but I can't think of anything
There's s8 and in a similar domain a10 but a10 I think would be confusing by itself and get something besides our target...there's also an a9 that...idk what would happen haha
Other definition h4 or s6 could work
Maybe this is enough confirmers and they could figure it out, if they can deduce s3 this is easy
H9 has a high chance of 1shot as they can narrow down to options and then deduce s3 and f4 and other words mentioned
And if it misses then s3 always gets it
I think we keep it simple and just fire h9

Feeling like this could be moon.
My only concern is that neither DZ nor Erv instantly knew s3.
Also no A6 confirmer mentioned for Apollo
I’m also not sure what Halloween has to do with the moon, so it doesn’t seem like an obvious clue.

I like how s3/h4/f4 hits moon, I’m just not sure wtf that has to do with Halloween.

It's not Moon. Armstrong would have been the clue.
Could be werewolf for all the same reasons as vampire.

I'm more on team vampire than werewolf, even with the possibility of Howl being a confirmer.
If S3 is such a great 2nd clue, then sun hits vampire way harder than it hits werewolf.
Are there other S3's that we haven't thought of?
sky? Maybe it's Witch because they fly in the air on their brooms? But we weren't given S5 Spell were we? So probably not witch.
Stoker seems like a good clue for vampire.
I thought of werewolf last night with the howl possibility, which is why I got a little stuck on moon. I lean that way vs vampire right now mainly because I’m not sure how Halloween + sun = vampire as a slam dunk, but maybe that explains how two of them didn’t know what s3 was during their discussion.
But then I don’t know what s3 would be to hit werewolf in as locky a way Nich portrayed.
In short, I have nfi.
Eh, Stoker gets us to Dracula before vampire, which would be a shame. So yeah, not the best clue.
The h4s being howl and half still work if it’s werewolf. I don’t know what the multiple h4s would be for vampire.
I guess we should guess something and move along. I'm more vampire than werewolf, but I'm not super confident.
If you had any h4s that hit vampire, I’d be more confident.
