Summer In Vegas II - the GEO teams - another $900 available - free entry

Summer In Vegas II - the GEO teams - another $900 available - free entry

This one is very similar to the "name" Summer In Vegas competition but this time we separate the teams by geography.
We'll use the same data. However, instead of $ won, we'll use # of cashes ($ won will be the tie breaker). This one will highlight the grinders.
Each state (and DOC) can enter a team. Every country (except USA) can enter a team. UK will be broken down by components.
5 players per team max.
To make an American team you must finish in the Top 500 worldwide. No such limit on non-American teams.
The same entries and payouts apply:
$100 if you select the correct team.
$300 additional if you select the winning team PLUS the MVP.
$500 additional if you select the winning team PLUS the MVP PLUS the women's MVP.
Payment by PokerStars transfer or Amazon gift certificate.
Scoring is the same as for the "name" competition: last longers in all tournament series in Vegas that run concurrently with the WSOP.
No duplicate entries but partials are allowed.
This is a fantasy pool but you are allowed to participate inside the pool (get a bunch of cashes and join a team then go to Vegas this summer and lead your team to victory!).

Which team a player will play for is based on HM & WSOP bios.
"Born" takes precedence over "residence".
If there is a discrepancy between HM & WSOP, the place farthest from Las Vegas will be picked.

CAVEAT: I will only run this one if I have 10 or more entries before I return from Taiwan (sometime on Monday).

Example: Allen Kessler will qualify for Team Pennsylvania because HM says Nevada and WSOP says Pennsylvania (Pennsylvania is farther from Las Vegas).
Example: Jeremy Becker will qualify for Team New York because he lives in Florida but was born in New York.
Example: if someone picks Team Texas (for $100), nobody else can pick Team Texas.
Example: If someone picks Team Texas + Daniel Negreanu (for $300) you are allowed to pick Team Texas + Alan Engel.
Example: If someone picks Team Texas + Daniel Negreanu + Angela Jordison (for $500) you are allowed to pick Team Texas + Daniel Negreanu + Kristen Foxen
BTW, Landon Tice will qualify for Team Florida.

I'll answer any questions you have.

KNOW YOUR TEAM - BELGIUM

We'll highlight a few teams that haven't been selected yet. It's like going to the dog pound - if you see someone you like take the whole team home with you!

Kenny Hallaert - over $5M in lifetime live cashes - over $6M in online cashes - WSOP ME final table in 2016

Thomas Boivin - Over $7M in lifetime live cashes - 2nd in Wynn/WPT High Roller in December for $958K

Jensen Bernard - Three cashes at EPT Prague in December

Gary Hasson - 6 cashes last summer in Vegas

Mallory Frere - Another 3 time casher at EPT Prague - then cashed 3 more times at EPT Paris + 3 more times at the Irish Open

Like the look of this team? - Take them all home with you for a cost of just $0

KNOW YOUR TEAM - TEAM NIGERIA

Michael Ibekwe - from Nigeria but now lives in Atlanta - no WSOP record because he didn't start playing poker until after WSOP 2023 - won a ring at WSOPC in North Carolina in November

Team Nigeria, just one player, strictly for Long Shot Louies

KNOW YOUR TEAM - MARYLAND

Cherish Andrews - at the March Wynn Millions she had a cash for $101K and another for $182K

Jonathan Moschel - has already cashed 25 times in 2024

Ryan Brown - an interesting one - there are 2 Ryan Browns - Ryan Brown (Maryland) has 5 cashes - Ryan Brown (Georgia) has 4
Whomever has the most cashes when play begins in the Summer In Vegas will determine which state gets "Ryan Brown" - right now it's Maryland but that could change

Michael Holtz - amazingly had 15 cashes at WSOP 2023

Jesse Yaginuma - had 9 cashes last summer in Vegas

Nobody has taken Team Maryland yet - you can have it for a mere $0

KNOW YOUR TEAM - MAURITIUS

Bertrand Yee - no picture available - has since changed his name to Bertrand Wan - he has 2 lifetime cashed - 2023 & 2012

DO NOT PICK TEAM MAURITIUS - OVERPRICED AT $0!!!!!!

It seems nobody was impressed by Team Maryland but I was.

latest teams/rosters are here

updated a few problem players:

Jose Gonzalez - there are a bunch of players with this name - made him Florida as that player has the most cashes
Pedro/Noel Rodriguez - appears these 2 guys are 1 and the same - going with Pedro because that's what the WSOP calls him
Marc Spitaleri - 2 of these on HM - using the older record showing him from Minnesota

Marc Spitaleri - on Team Minnesota for now (he's #495 worldwide)

another update of the teams/rosters here

Now less than 1 month to get your entries in / when rosters will be frozen

That didn't take long - Marc Spitaleri is gone from Team Minnesota - he'll need another cash to get back on

Free entries are hard to get rid of so.........another one goes to charity.
World Vision takes Washington as their team, Raminder Singh as their MVP and the always popular Kathy Chang as their woman's MVP.
