Who Wants To Be A (not real) Millionaire?
I found a website that has a ton of WWTBAM questions so why not try it out here, who's interested?
Will be 10 questions instead of 15 as the first 5 (0 to £1,000) are pretty easy anyway, 3 lifelines will be:
50/50 (i'll randomly remove 2 incorrect answers)
Phone A Friend (Another POGger, doesn't have to be involved in this thread i'll just PM them the question and explain)
Ask The Host (Same as Phone A Friend but will be asking myself instead)
£2,000
£4,000
£8,000
£16,000
£32,000 - If you reach here you're guaranteed minimum of £32,000
£64,000
£125,000
£250,000
£500,000
£1,000,000
Who wants to go first? First come first served! Obviously no research allowed
Once we do a 50:50
A) Department store
D) Hotel
filthy you are up bro
Daaaaaang I don't "know this" but I can speak Russian so would have an idea
well yeah I speak Russian too. so I was gonna say the G stands for the russian word for hotel. and the M stands for store. so I was gonna guess store or hotel and the 50/50 ****ed us.
G also stands for state. and in Russia everything was state. so it's either probably a state run department store or a moscow hotel.
"state something store"
or
"hotel something Moscow"
MGU is moscow state University, and in this case the last letter is the thing it is, so that is a point in favor of this being a store, cuz last letter in GUM is M for store.
BUT the clue says in moscow. so if it was a state run store, it would be all over Russia. and since the clue says "in moscow" it makes me think the M stands for moscow, and the G stands for hotel
so I'd guess hotel in moscow. I'm unsure though :(
the U could stand for the Russian word for universal... state universal store GUM, make a lot of sense
I can't figure out what the U would be for Hotel U moscow
bleh... sorry. we ran really bad on the 50/50
also "department store" is a suspiciously specific answer. I'm starting to lean more towards store... bleh. sorry!!!!
filthy is full of surprises.
Do u really speak Russian filthy? Since when/how/why lol
I just studied the language in school, back in the early 90s. I was just intrigued by the culture and the language.
I think I'd guess department store
(G)state (U)universal (M)store
**** I don't know!!!! cuz now I'm thinking the question isn't supposed to super hard yet, right? and it's a question for UK. so they're more likely to know a hotel than a dept store?
**** it. guess store
Ok.
Were doing it
(A) depRtment store
Thanks filthy!!
That's gotta be right imo. No idea what gum stands for but store is "magazin" so seems like best guess by a wide margin
Department store is correct! Well done filthy 😃
I'll post next question shortly
No lifelines left but you've got a free shot if you don't know the answer at least!
