Higher or Lower sports edition
See how high we can get, every question will be sports related and the number will correlate to the question number for example question 1 will be higher or lower than 1, question 20 will be higher or lower than 20 etc
Q1:
The number of NBA Finals appearances made by the Los Angeles Clippers
Higher or Lower than 1? You can confer between yourselves and then someone can bold your guess
Highest score so far is 4 questions correct, shame because I had a great question about Dan Marino total passing yards for question 61,362 :p
Q1:
Is the number of World Series appearances made by the San Diego Padres higher or lower than 1?
So it can’t be one ? Cause I know they have one appearance so I’d say higher .
Oh boy I have no idea on the padres...I can't really remember them being good ever(did they have tony gwynn at one point?) but I'm not huge on baseball
Marino is such a strange number, i bet it's gonna be either 61361 or 61363 lol
That's a lot of yards! Let's say you avg 300 and play all 16 games then that's 48000 yards after 10 years, idk how long he played for - QBs usually the longest so that's like 13 years at that clip to hit the number. If we give him 15 years for maybe some injuries/lower numbers it seems doable
Yeah, the Padres lost in 84 to the Tigers. And they lost some time in the 90s to the Yankees so it's higher.
The Dolphins are my team and Marino is my favorite all-time player so I should know that one. But I don't. I'm guessing lower.
The main thing I know about Marino is he can't hold a football for shiit and sabotages his kickers
When someone knows an answer they should just bold it.
higher
Yep it's higher!
Q2:
How many times has Boris Becker won the US Open, higher or lower than 2?
If I got asked this question, my answer would've been 2 lol. I'd prolly guess lower, but idk.
Becker won 3 or 4 Wimbledons and I don't think he's super-duper high on the list of grand slam champions so my guess is lower than 2 US Opens.
I don't think Mickelson won one until he was in his late 30s or 40s and then he rattled off a couple, but I don't think he got to 5. He was always known as the guy who couldn't close because he had a ton of seconds. It's entirely possible I'm just thinking of The Masters instead of any major, but I lean under for sure.
I'm glad some of you guys backed me on this. I looked it up as soon as I posted and was hoping someone would contradict me. I was so sure, damn it.
Yea I thought Becker won wimbledons and frenches and maybe only like 1 of the other so my guess would be lower too
I think he has won 6 Grand Slams and at least 3 of them should be Wimbledon, I don't think there's room for him to have won 3 or more US Open.
Lower seems like the consensus.
Correct! He won his only US Open title in 1989 to go with his 3 Wimbledons (85, 86, 89) and 2 Australians (91, 96)
Q3 coming shortly
Q3:
Is the number of PDC World Championship Finals Raymond van Barneveld has played in higher or lower than 3?
Tails!
About 10 years ago, we got a dart board in the breakroom at work. (No, we didn't put up pictures of the players we hated.) But I got into darts for a little while beacuse of that and I started watching videos on youtube. This is what I learned.
The crowds at the championship matches are insane. I would attend one of those in a heartbeat, and so would you if you had any idea of how much fun people are having.
Those players are scary good. I guess elite players at just about any sport/hobby/exercise are going to be that much better than regular people.
Phil "The Power" Taylor was the king of darts, but he was being replaced by Michael Van Gerwen right around the time of those few months that I was following along.
I remember Raymond Van Barneveld as being more of a Phil Mickelson and not so much a Tiger Woods. So I'm guessing lower.
Then again, I guessed lower on Phil Mickelson and we know how that went.
2 seems low for someone famous enough to be referred to here or is that a crazy way to think about it

I think that's a bad way to look at it.
Based on how this game has gone so far, the answer is either exactly 2 or exactly 4.
With no other information, might as well flip a coin.
(Hopefully someone here has a clue so that we don't have to do that)

It's been years since I casually watched some Darts but afaik there are 2 Darts federations that organize World Championships. I'm guessing the catch of the question is that he's higher in one of them and lower in the other, I have absolutely no idea which one it is though.
