20 Questions
I'm thinking of a movie.
Go!
Silento - Watch Me Nae Nae
Fergie - MILF Money
Lizzo - Truth Hurts
Katy Perry - Swish Swish
Drake - Hotline Bling
I had completely erased MILF Money from my mind. Yeah, that deserves a spot on the list, possibly top 5.
Considered Swish Swish. If my list was 20 long, it probably makes it.
Watch Me is bad, but too close to a novelty song for me. There's a limit on just how much hate I can generate for songs like that.
Hotline Bling is awful, but I'd probably have about a dozen Drake songs lower. Had a discussion with a friend about the worst artist of the 2010s. I was torn between Drake and Meghan Trainor. It's basically a tie.
I guess I don't share the same hate for Lizzo that you do. I don't like Truth Hurts, but it wouldn't have made my list even if it were expanded to 100.
Thoughts on Hey Ya by Outkast? I find that song fascinating because in my mind it's objectively one of the worst songs of the millennium, but most people don't seem to see it as the steaming pile of dogshit that it truly is.
IDK. I like it. It's fun.
It's certainly overrated. Rolling Stone had it as the 10th greatest song of all time in their list recently. That's absurd.

If you go back a bit further, then you can add My Humps to the list. Black Eyed Peas are basically a crime against humanity.
And I may have benefited from not hearing enough Drake songs to properly rate them, but if he has a bunch of songs worse than that, then may God have mercy on us all!

See? Fascinating.
I'm gonna have to check out this Rolling Stone list...
I'm not lying:
Honestly I spent the bulk of my time looking for Fergie and BEP “songs” that fit because I had a hard time believing the worst song ever could be by anyone else.
Some other highlights from Rolling Stone:
16. Beyonce - Crazy in Love
8. Missy Elliott - Get Ur Freak On
I'm pretty sure they're trolling.
Solid list. I had not even heard a few of them. I think Nicki Minaj could fill a top 10 list all by herself...she may be the worst thing to ever happen to music.
Some notable omissions from the last decade or so:
Silento - Watch Me Nae Nae
Fergie - MILF Money
Lizzo - Truth Hurts
Katy Perry - Swish Swish
Drake - Hotline Bling
It's quite sad that pop music has gotten so bad that you can look back at a song like Mmmbop and go, "You know what, it's actually not that bad!"
When driving my wife and I will change channels when Truth Hurts comes on. It is more than awful it is annoying.
My worst are Cobie Caillat Just Realizing something a million goddam times and I also have a hate on (perhaps irrational) for Phillip Phillips' Home...
That Rolling Stone article is amazing. It's like if you opened the Sight & Sound poll and found Weekend at Bernie's sandwiched between The Godfather and Citizen Kane.

That's one of very few popular songs from the last 25 years that I actually like. It's far better when played along with the Peanuts video though.
