POG Politics Thread Version 3
Come on in! Since Dustin is taking his ball and going home, it's time to start a new politics thread.
I tried to watch a youtube documentary about the Tulsi cult but it was soooo boring. way more interesting cults out there. this one seemed like having a cult around a dentist.
Most people are raised in a cult i think. cultish behavior is everywhere.
whatever lab they grew Tulsi in is nothing compared to the Illuminati Matrix Erika Kirk slouched out of.
Catholic Church is waving hi.
Tulsi cult highlights...
guru had servants cut his toenails. his toenails would then be eaten by cult members
got a member into the Senate, and almost VP of usa
but yeah the cult seemed really lame and uncreative
When is your join date?
Do you get to wear cool robes and headbands? I assume 24/7 harp music playing in the background.
March 2008.
I was just signing up for all kinds of stupid, dangerous **** back then
lololol Excellent.
Profitable too.
This Chevalier lady who's going to Congress soon is gonna be 76 kinds of fun.
RIP Democrats. Meet the DSA. Same as the old boss? No, lots worse. Imagine that.
lots worse than genocidal war criminals destroying the planet?
oh no leftism
if only it was leftism!
mamdani supports cops and war criminals and capitalists!
he is AOC 2.0 and AOC was Obama 2.0
and it's not a progression of being more just. it's a progression of being more deceptive. it's just imperialism dressed up differently. it's still just good cop bad cop, where our "good cop" is presented differently
meanwhile the Nazi right has actually moved father to the right, and dragged the so called left along with it.
Have you not heard of that madman who lit a lantern in the bright morning hours, ran to the market place, and cried incessantly: "I seek 'The Left'! I seek 'The Left'!"
As many of those who did not believe in 'The Left' were standing around just then, he provoked much laughter. "Has he got lost?" asked one. "Did he lose his way like a child?" asked another. "Or is he hiding? Is he afraid of us? Has he gone on a voyage? Emigrated?" Thus they yelled and laughed.
The madman jumped into their midst and pierced them with his eyes. "Whither is 'The Left'?" he cried; "I will tell you. We have killed itβyou and I.
All of us are its murderers. But how did we do this? How could we drink up the sea? Who gave us the sponge to wipe away the entire horizon? What were we doing when we unchained this earth from its sun? Whither is it moving now? Whither are we moving?
Are we not plunging continually? Backward, sideward, forward, in all directions [to The Right]?
Is there still any up or down [that isn't The Right]?
Are we not straying, as through an infinite [Rightwardness]?
Has it not become colder? Is not night continually closing in on us?
Do we hear nothing as yet of the noise of the gravediggers who are burying 'The Left'?
'The Left' is dead. 'The Left' remains dead. And we have killed it.
Spoiler
Must we ourselves not become 'The Left' simply to appear worthy of it? There has never been a greater deed; and whoever is born after usβfor the sake of this deed he will belong to a higher history than all history hitherto.
i was wondering what happened to you
me too
this week I've been stuck on Dance Yourself Clean
I can't get all the way through it, it's surprisingly long, but I also can't get away from it

does anyone else find the American flag about as offensive as the Nazi flag? or is that just me?
I guess people who fly the Nazi flag are gonna be worse because it's so socially unacceptable. whereas people who fly the American flag can easily be nice people who just don't understand how horrific America is. like mark.
God bless America!
no
i still have all the ideological associations i grew up with
even tho i already knew at 4yo that pledging allegiance to it was bullshit
it did seem like it stood for something the nazi flag does not invoke
i still kinda believe there is an idea to America that you can work with
and since 4yo i have thought that idea was the melting pot. everyone can come here and make a new life.
humanity is red in tooth and claw and the whole earth is layered in the residue of butchery. you gotta live somewhere.
freedom, equality, justice, democracy
all great! but also the opposite of america.
those protestors got like 30 year sentences. hopefully they'll be reversed, but still jfc
i did hear alligator alcatraz got closed recently. but i think it was thanks to the tribe who's land it was on? im fuzzy on the details.
humanity is red in tooth and claw and the whole earth is layered in the residue of butchery.
reminds of blood meridian.
i've got about 2/3 the way through that book over ten times, but never finished. quite enjoyed it though. maybe not something one should enjoy, but yeah... it kinda puts me to sleep. in a good way.
it's like being underwater, except violence instead of water.
maybe the judge(character from the book) is America.
donβt be vexed by the flag*
*vexillology humor
blood meridian is my favorite book. the raw meat and bones of humanity stripped bare. not enjoyable in any sense. actively repulsive in fact. but deep and true.
the judge is america is not something iβve considered. they are already in america so that would be like putting a hat on a hat.
the thesis statement of blood meridian is βwar is godβ
who the judge is flows from that stream
so maybe itβs not my favorite book. my favorite book is probably actually Shogun. but itβs the best book.
perhaps this is another symptom but i have never read a book and wondered βwhat concept does this character representβ unless it was an obvious parable like animal farm.
especially in mccarthy, where characters donβt even have THOUGHTS.
idk if youβve noticed. characters in mccarthy books have no interiority. no thoughts.
the judge is what he does. thatβs plenty without layering concepts on it.
iβm done talking about mccarthy.
