I've got chair first by a lot.

I think I'm at March > Fly > Scuba but march could be easily missed so maybe it's better 4th.

Yeah, I think March & Fly are both potentially missable, but Scuba Diver & Chair are a clear top 2 imo

I don’t hate the fire idea for Phoenix. It’s prob between that and boom for me.

Phoenix because they burn up and turn to ash then rise again is also a decent one

seagull gets beach+phoenix but not night, and fly is in the way
bat gets night+phoenix but not really beach, and fly is in the way
bonfire gets all 3

fireworks would get boom harder and night and still hit beach pretty hard, but fly could get in the way of that as well

I think he has to clue bonfire whether it's boom or phoenix; not really anything better for either trio

maybe party for phoenix? beach party, night party, party in the city of Phoenix; doesn't really hit anything else on the list, so maybe slight points for boom?

they only have 3 but if their list is good they could win next turn so we'll have to take a shot at one of those 2 words

I'm not seeing anything else for boom, beach, night as fly and war block all the options I can think of

so I think I'm 60/40 boom/phoenix

boom isn't great, but going with the larger fire type makes it more likely
phoenix is connected to fire (couldn't say fire due to firefly and military fire) but also easily overlooked

I don’t get campfire or party including Phoenix nearly as much as you do (and would probably connect party to boom before connecting it to Phoenix), but something like heat works really well for Phoenix/beach/night and doesn’t have much in the way of blockers. Of course, fireworks is the banger clue for beach/night/boom, but maybe he got scared off of clueing fireworks after you said this:

Saying if boom isn’t ours and it’s Phoenix for the bird then campfire seems fine bc that still hits beach and night

The reason for bonfire seems like to get large fire so more boomy, but I could be wrong

Maybe he thought campfire wouldn’t hit beach as hard, tho most fires on the beach are campfires not bonfires, but still

So just when it’s 50/50 my reasoning is campfire hits Phoenix just as well or better than bonfire but bonfire hits boom better than campfire so that’s why I lean boom, but I’m 60/40 so could go either way

I’m fine with boom, largely because I think fair is a fireworks blocker.

My strategy this entire game was "Leave Beach on the board to make life difficult for Xander." I knew you'd likely hit Berry first, but I missed Engine and that slowed us down. Fortunately it worked out.

Oh and I didn't glue Fireworks because I was afraid it'd hit War a bit and Beach not enough.

I’m never going war for fireworks tho; missiles, cannon etc are all war words and fireworks is only for Fourth of July reference to war, not normal wars

But fly hits fireworks

Also Fair was a very strong blocker on Fireworks *or* Bonfire.
